Stayed here in July 2008. We only booked a few days before we arrived. Got a 'double' room (two single beds!) for 100 euro per night. Our room was adequate. It was small and clean with a sea view but didn't have a balcony or air conditioning. Wireless internet access is available in your room for 6 euro per day. A buffet style breakfast, which was not included in the price, was available until 11am each day. The staff working on reception were friendly and helpful. The hotel is well-located for anyone interested in relaxing by the beach and as this was our primary focus and the weather was great, it served us perfectly.

Hotel was recommended to us by friends - and it is in a brilliant location, overlooking a huge, spotlessly clean beach. Just a 6 euro or so taxi fare or 30 min walk along the seafront from the centre of Santander - (which is a great city) and 22 euro from the airport. All in all our three night stay was great. It's a basic 3 star hotel, we got it for 79 euro a night including a buffet style breakfast. (don't forget the 7% gov tax they charge on top of that) The rooms are a decent enough size, very clean and from what I could tell all 160 rooms or so had great sea views. But be prepared - some of the staff were seriously rude and unhelpful. In fact it became a bit of a running joke. The barstaff in the Cafeteria attached were outrageously gruff and unpleasant. Most of the reception staff weren't much better. In fact the only reason the staff issue didn't really hamper our stay was because Santander was such a lovely place to visit for a few days and we were so relaxed that we didn't bother caring about the front desk and made sure to eat and drink elsewhere. We'll probably return to Santander and while the hotel was great value and in a lovely spot there are plenty other places near the beach. So rather than go back and help pay the wages of people obviously unhappy working in the hospitality trade - I think we'll be booking in somewhere else next time.

Booked through Brittany Ferries as a 5-day break,this hotel proved to be ideal for this middle-aged couple!Stunning views from the balcony(insist on one)over the long sandy beach;across the town and to the mountains in the distance.Staff attentive,food hotel-good.Take your own kettle and air-conditioner if you must! Santander thoroughly recommended,and the 'Chiqui' with its superb location just a 5 minute bus ride from the centre was an ideal base.

Su situación es excelente, al final de la segunda playa del Sardinero y en frente del mar, con lo que tiene unas vistas impresionantes de la bahia con las montañas nevadas detras; por lo visto todas las habitaciones tienen vistas al mar, aunque eso si pide una habitación que tenga terraza porque no todas tienen. La habitacion es adecuada y confortable, si bien el baño podía estar mejor. La comida tanto en Cafetería como en el restaurante es excelente, de lo mejorcito de Santander. Mi novia es de Santander y venimos con frecuencia, así que conocemos algunos de los hoteles de esta ciudad y en mi opinión es el mejor.
