The staff were all very courteous and welcoming. On arrival I discovered the a/c was not working (from other reviews, maybe it never does!). However, I was immediately given a fan and as the weather was not too hot it was fine - I prefer the door open to a/c anyway.
Breakfast was fine - buffet style, and most things that anyone would want I think.
Good pool if you like that sort of thing, but I prefer the beach.
Location a lot more out than I had thought, but there was a circular bus (only 0.55) per journey and the stop was right outside. Normally I would have walked everywhere anyway, but I have a problem at the moment. Still it was very convenient for the old town restaurants etc.
Beaches in the area very crowded (June!) so better if you have a car and go out a little way I think.
All in all I enjoyed it - easy access to Lisbon, Sintra, etc.

Arrived at the hotel on friday, and I had read a few reviews beforehand, so I had an idea on what to expect. Firstly I would like to say that the hotel REALLY does need to be refurbished and that the rooms are extremely dated (20 years) at least. But saying that, I was impressed on the size of the large apartments that we were offered as there were 12 of us. We had 2 balconies, both large and over looking the large pool. The furniture, although dated was comfortable, sky tv and a bbc news channel were available on the tv but sound for those channels did not work. The bathroom was okay, but the toilet moved when you sat on it. The sliding door that led to the balcony was at the end of its life and stiff to open.. The kitchenette was okay, but again dated. The main entrance to the hotel was fine and offered good information to the town and the bar was adequate and seating set a comfortable vibe for a quiet drink or to read. Breakfast on offer was passable but could be better. The staff were helpful and the pool area and seating was good with free towels and padded sunlounges. On the whole for us lads it was cheap and the money we saved, paid for more drinking in the local Irish bar which was great. Would i return, Yes to Cascais, but a no to the hotel, which im sure was a good hotel many moons ago, but it's time to break the bank and get the builders in.. At the end of the day, it's a comfortable dated place to stay

Although this hotel is a little dated they are still in keeping with cleanliness and good food. At breakfast there was a great choice of cereals, cold meats/cheese, yoghurts, bacon/eggs etc.
The pool was very cool! Pool facilities were good.
The location was a short walk to the main shops/restaurants and (railway which we found very good value). You must take the trip to Lisbon which was only about ?1 at the time and took about half an hour. The monument of discovery Lisbon is an amazing landmark. It's worth walking across to and taking photos.
Cascais was a very nice resort, much better than Estoril which seemed to offer its Casino as the main attraction!
