This was my second visit to Estoril having previously stayed at the Clube do Lago and it was only for the sake of doing something slighlty different this year that I chose the Estoril Eden. It was a good decision. We had a room/apartment on the top floor overlooking the beach which was a very pleasant surprise. Add to this the size of the room (it had a 6 seater dining table in it with room to spare!) and it really was ideal. There was one moment of panic for two blokes travelling together on finding there was only one bed (in a seperate room to the main living area by the way) but we were relieved to find the sofa folded out to form a second one. This was apparently fairly comfortable but it may be something for people to consider if they're not expecting this. Furniture in our room was fine and not worn as per the previous reviewers experience. The bathroom was a little jaded perhaps and could probably do with a re-tile or something. Of the facilities we used the pool area was good but fairly busy (you collect a voucher for towels for this area from reception which you use throughout your stay and must return at the end or you are stung for 20 euros). The fitness equipment is limited to a running machine, a cross trainer and a couple of bikes. If you want a well equipped gym then this is not it! There's an indoor pool and steam room but we didn't use these. Wireless internet is available or you can use the computer provided in the lobby (these are charged additionally). Our experience of the breakfast was not great though. Location wise this is pretty good, easy access from Monte Estoril station (although steps from station are steep). You can walk along the front to Cascais or Estoril itself. All in all, the size of the room and the better location I think gives this place the edge over my stay at the Clube do Lago last year.

The Eden (aparthotel) Hotel, Estoril is within walking distances of the beach, harbour, shops and nightlife. We got a good price for our room as booked only the day before we arrived online and the Eden was one of the few hotels that actually had room. The reception team were welcoming, The rooms are a little retro, but perfectly clean and fresh. We had an excellent view of the sea and beach. We didn’t use the pool so can’t comment on it. Parking was difficult but we finally found a road side parking place.

My family and I relocated to Lisbon from the USA in April 2007, and spent our first week at the Estoril Eden. The hotel is great for people traveling with children, esp. small ones, since it has micro-suites (in Europe known as apart-hotels) with basic kitchen facilities. Our first evenings in Portugal were spent in the tiny kitchen while our kids slept. Beds were comfortable enough. We had a corner room with a balcony and a really nice view of the ocean and palm-lined coastline. Staff are v. friendly, most speak good English. They were quite accommodating for our needs, especially the wait staff in the restaurant for breakfast. Breakfast (typically included in your room rate) is good. Plenty of choices, although within the European breakfast buffet spectrum. Lots of meats, cheeses, as well as yogurt, granola. Not good for people needing tons of fruit but you will not find that at anything but luxury hotels in Portugal. Hotel provides computers with pay-by-minute access for internet, which work OK. We did not take advantage much of the recreational facilities in the hotel. As others have commented, sauna and gym facilities are a bit small and limited to times when a hotel employee can give access. The outdoor pool seems like it would be nice in good weather. The hotel is a five minute walk up a hill from the Monte Estoril train station, which has frequent service 30 mins to Lisbon, with tickets under 3 euros round trip. One can also easily access the beach-side promenade, allowing you to walk 20-30 mins down to Cascais, which has many nice beach-side restaurants and shops, or up to Estoril proper. The hotel also fronts a little park with playgrounds for children and a few restaurants, including a take-out place for those staying a bit longer. Overall, a good value in a good location. May be worth contacting the hotel directly if staying longer than a week in order to get good rates.

We stayed in this Aparthotel from Christmas Eve for four nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This modern hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms are well equiped and quite large with a small kitchen unit, well appointed bathroom, king sized bed, lounge area and balcony. The hotel is located near Monte Estoril railway station and with a train every 10 minutes to Lisbon it is ideal for anyone who likes to visit the city but would prefer to stay in a nicer location. The only down side with this hotel is the busy road that winds along the coast can be quite noisy at times, although the rooms are soundproofed so traffic noise cannot be heard once the balcony doors are closed. All in all highly recommended

I stayed at the Estoril Eden for 2 nights on business in November 2007. The hotel/aparthotel is in a lovely location, right by the sea, and about 15 minutes walk from Cascais. The rooms are a little dated, and could really do with modernising. Furnishings are in brown/orange (v70s!) and the furniture is tired/worn. Everything was in working order, and as a basic room, it had everything you needed (no iron, and that didn't turn up even upon request) but it was clean. As an aparthotel, the room had a small kitchenette (fridge was rather noisy during the night), small table and chairs, and sofa. Balcony was a plus! I saw that First Choice used the hotel - I'd be very disappointed if this was where I turned up for my holiday! It felt a bit more like a backpacker's room! Breakfast was OK (self service buffet). Nice to watch the sun rise whilst munching! Didn't try the restaurant in the evening... Wouldn't have thought it would be a good location for exploring Lisbon (alhtough you can get there easily by train); would be better to stay closer to the centre and benefit from the great restaurants and bars in Docas. Better to do a day trip to Cascais as a day out from Lisbon. Note: if you're planning to go into Lisbon by taxi in rush hour it takes about an hour! Cascais was lovely, and would def. recommend the 15mins walk along the sea into the town. Overall, a great location if you want to stay by the sea. Hotel is really a budget option.
