Some of the staff members at this place were down right rude and insulting. Their air conditioning broke down and they did nothing to compensate us for the hot nights we spent staying awake! Very bad customer orientation...my recommendation...find another place!

We had some problems with this hotel. We made a reservation explicitly for a room with a twin bed but we ended up with a room with a small double bed (three-quarter bed). A normal double bed would even have been acceptable, but this was a bit too cosy for two friends. Since all rooms were booked the only option was to get an extra bed. This seemed reasonable, but the spare bed turned out to be terrible (literally unsleapable). The next day we did get another room with twin beds (we mentioned the state of the bed so hopefully they replaced it by now).
The second night we returned to the hotel at three at night. The door was locked though and nobody answered the door. We spent at least 20 minutes ringing and knocking. We finally called the security firm (the phone number was on a sticker next to the door) and they were able to help us. They told us that they were familiar with the problem and they would call the guy on duty in the hotel. A few minutes later the hotel guy indeed answered the door. He had probably been sleeping on the job...

Hotell very close to the WTO building and the lake.
The hotel is small and simple but clean and well kept.
Rooms are not too small and with furniture in good condition.
Breakfast buffet is not bad.
Some rooms (those which are on the side on the streeet) are however a bit noisy.
Excellent Choice!!

Just returned from a 3 night short break at the Eden Hotel, Geneva. What an excellent choice! Booked via Thomas Cook, it was a bit of a gamble as the travel agents had very limited information on the hotel or pictures, however the gamble paid off. The hotel is situated in a lovely spot just opposite the Jardin Botanique (Botanical Gardens) which sits on the shore of Lake Geneva. From the airport its just a 15 minute bus ride on the No.28 bus for the mere sum of 3CHF, which was a bargain. On arriving at the hotel we were presented with a ticket entitling us to to free travel on the bus, trams, river bus and some trains within Geneva throughout our stay. You won't find that in many countries. The hotel is lovely, very elegant with wood panelling, 24 hr manned reception area, lounge, bar and restaurant. From my experience some hotels reserve the refinery for the entrance lobby and the rooms are a disappointment, but this is not the case at the Eden. The rooms were spacious and clean, with hairdryer, trouser press, satellite TV (BBC4 and ITV3) and well stocked mini-bar (at a price!). The hotel is also within walking distance of the Old Town but the No.1 bus runs every 10 minutes if you are not feeling fit, which also takes you to the train station. Breakfast consisted of freshly baked pastries, croissants, fruit and everything you would expect on the continent.
I would highly recommend this hotel for both business and pleasure.
