I would highly recommend this hotel. My wife and i stayed here for 5 nights and i must say for a european hotel it is is very spacious. the hotel is centrally located and minutes away from major attractions. the staff is very friendly and breakfast was included. which goes a long way with the current exchange rates. just fyi if your visiting Piaza Navano, although the outdoor restaurants in the piazza look very appealing please be aware that every one charges double for everything on the menu. we found this out the hard way when our lunch bill was $53 euro which was $110U.S with tip. and this was just for Pizza and a plate of pasta. a can of coke will cost you $ 10 U.S. if you walk down one of the side street you will find the food just as good for half the price.

Loved the Starhotel Metropole

Have just returned from 3 days at Starhotel Metropole and loved our stay there. We booked 2 superior rooms and were upgraded to deluxe free of charge. They seem to do this a lot and its a nice touch. The beds ,as lots of others have said ,are so comfortable. Just what you need after a day walking around Rome. The hot buffet breakfast was a welcome every morning. Great selection of food and breads available. Hotel location was excellent, 5 mins from Termini station. Tried a few restaurants around the hotel and didn't think much of any of them. We tried Est, Est, Est just across the road as it was mentioned as a top 10 restaurant on some site I goggled before going. We were very disappointed with it. The staff were rude and the food average. My sister ordered a side salad with her main course and it consisted of a load of lettuce leaves, not a tomato or anything else in sight. The only negatives I would have about the hotel were the very pricey bar with no atmosphere, though I'm sure all hotel bars in Rome are pricey. The staff at reception were polite but so busy they didn't really have time to advise on anything. I guess this is a problem with most large hotels. I couldn't fault the hotel though. The accommodation was 1st class, well worthy of 4 stars. Would defiantly stay there again. We also found the prices on the hotel website were a bit more expensive than other websites.

I'd like to recommend this hotel to anybody who likes good quality of room and excellent service.
I booked superior room and and was welcomed by reception stuff with free upgrade to suite which was really great.
Room was very clean, calm with perfect bed and even if it doesn't look so good on pictures it's well furbished and maintained hotel.
It's located in walking distance to Termini and Republica stations and also you can walk easily to almost any of well known sight spots in Rome.
Breakfast was also very good.
I can recommend this hotel without doubts.

We stayed at the Starhotel Metropole in Rome during our last visit to Italy in Sept/Oct of 2006. We stayed there at the beginning of our trip and again on our last night in Rome before coming back to the States. We had different rooms both times. The room we had upon arrival was superb. The bed was the most comfortable thing I have ever slept in (and that is saying a lot)!!! We had a different room our last night in Italy. It wasn't quite as nice as the first, but still very good and worth the price. We are going to Italy again this summer and have booked the Rome portion of our visit at this hotel because we liked it so well and because of the location. We find it very convenient.
