Our family's favorite stay in Albuquerque

The Albuquerque Clubhouse Inn has a special place in my family's heart because we stayed here for a week back in May 2000 during the Cerro Grande fire. We were evacuated from Los Alamos and the management allowed us to stay here with our dog. It continues to be a favorite place to stay overnight when we have to catch an early flight out of ABQ (our 12/07 stay) or as tourists (our 11/07 stay) and for business.
This is a great place for parents with small children because you can book a true 2-room suite for under $100! Our little one gets a space of his own and mom and dad get plenty of privacy and a GOOD night's sleep. The suites have a minibar with fridge and microwave. Complimentary popcorn in the room, and snacks and adult beverages at the evening reception. So many thoughful touches.
Breakfast is a big hit with my pork-fat loving husband. Aside from Embassy Suites, this continues to be the best free breakfast I've ever eaten in a hotel (more fruit options would be nice). Another thoughtful touch: there are two high chairs on hand for parents with toddlers.
The pool was closed for the winter during both of our visits so we didn't get to check it out. However, my toddler loved strolling around in the courtyard, hugging all of the trees and tooking at the Christmas lights. Very nice to have a safe place (not a parking lot) for him to stretch his legs!
A few minor areas for improvement: The fit and finish in some rooms is a bit sloppy, with some patched areas in the wallpaper and heavy handed caulking around the tub and minibar. The window in our downstairs suite had enough mineral deposits on it that you couldn't see outside. Hallway carpets looked like they were past-ready for a shampooing, although the room itself seemed clean enough. Reconfiguration of the Big-I intersection (I-25 and I-40) several years ago now makes it difficult to get anywhere without going at least a mile on the frontage roads - although the location is still very convenient overall. And the heater/AC units in some rooms are a bit noisy.
All in all a reliable, family AND business-friendly hotel and a fantastic value.

We stayed twice during and after balloon fiesta week in October. The inn is a basic motel – nothing fancy. However the rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. The inn has an extremely friendly and helpful manager and staff.
Although the inn was completely booked and it is next to the freeway, the rooms were very quiet. Some rooms face onto the parking lots and some face onto the interior courtyard. The courtyard has attractive landscaping and a large, clean pool. The breakfast is fairly basic but includes make-your-own waffles and green chile stew as well as all the other basics.
The location is extremely convenient. It is a short drive to attractions including the botanical gardens, Old Town, parking lots for the balloon fiesta shuttles, and the Sandia Peak tramway. Also, it is a short drive to great restaurants on 4th including Garcia’s and Sadie’s.

We stayed here on 12/1/07 and on 12/4/07 on a Geocaching ad venture in NM, CO,UT, and AZ. Although this is a mature property, let me say that it is the best I have stayed in for a long time. We travel considerably, and we were so welcomed and so comfortable here. The manager's reception was great, and the hot breakfast was very good. Cozy rooms, pleasant staff, an opportunity to visit with Barbara Conley added up to a fine stay. In addition we were the guests for the day, which upgraded us to a suite. A very pleasant serendipity, indeed. We took some photos, but they were not as good as the ones on the website. Once again, if in ABQ, please consider this inn as your choice.

We stayed at Clubhouse Inn & Suites for 3 nts in October. It is definitely better than your basic BW or Quality Inn, and it's in a very convenient location that is, in spite of its proximity to the freeway, surprisingly quiet.
That's not to say that there were no problems. We arrived to find that our reservations had been unexplainedly cancelled, and i was glad we had all our paperwork. The oddest thing that happened while there was we discovered our room's toilet had no flush handle. For the first day, we pulled up the chain inside the tank to flush. A little beef of mine was to find that the complimentary lotion and mouthwash (!) had been previously broken into and consumed, so cleaning staff is a little inattentive. In spite of these setbacks, however, our stay was quiet, clean, convenient, and we enjoyed free access to our internet accounts while there.

An OUTSTANDING establishment, in EVERY way! I spent 2 nights to attend a training at the B.I.A. facility. The staff at the Clubhouse were friendly and accomodating; from George the Manager and Barbara the Sales. Dir. on down. Wonderful hot breakfast, great margaritas (2 free) in the lounge at night, beautifully appointed room, super indoor hot tub, and AMAZING shuttle. They don't just pick you up at the airport, they will take you anywhere you would like to go (within 5 miles) and then COME BACK AND PICK YOU UP!! All free of charge.Great location, as well. If you are going to Albuquerque, don't even THINK about staying anywhere else!!
