I stayed in the Baltschugg for business purpose. The room was great, with high ceilings and I loved the treatment in the room.
In the bibliotheque which is located at the highest floor, you have a spectacular view over the Red Square and the Kreml.
The buffet breakfast was great, a large choice and I loved the small caf?, the Kranzler.
I would definitely return also for private reasons.

A very nice property, but as a non-smoker, no matter where you went in this hotel, it smelled like smoke. Bed were comfortable, but also smelled of smoke. The bathrooms are a bit strange, with the lights on the side, but in general this is a decent property. The views from dome of the hotel rooms are great and the business event we ran at the hotel went very well. Pretty good food at the restaurant (vegetarian friendly too!) Nice gym too.
Close walking distance if you want the tourist route. There's also a casino downstairs ($25 to get in) -- it was empty when we went, but fun, nonetheless.

This hotel is located in "position A" for both business and sightseeing. Ask for a river view and you also will have a shot of seeing Red Square and the Kremlin from your room.
Rates here are extremely expensive, as it is very central to Moscow. For what you are paying, the staff was disappointing when it came to arranging for tourist recommendations/reservations and dinner accommadtions. The repeatedly would not call back and seemed uninterested when you called back.
We also had an issue where breakfast was supposed to be included and when checking out it was not. Go over your bill very carefully - as the restaurants are EXTREMELY expensive (between $10-20 for a non-alcoholic beverage).
If you aren't spending a lot of time at the hotel, but want a place that is clean and safe this is your spot. If you plan to use the hotel as your guide through Moscow, you may want to look elsewhere.

Fabulous hotel. The service is excellent and the interiror of the hotel is very traditional.
We stayed for 2 nights for celebration of the hotel's 15-th anniversary in the Junior Suite, which is a good sized room with a huge bed, very very stylish.
The staff are very friendly and always on hand.
If you want luxury and are prepared to pay for it then this is the place
