Breathtaking view from the breakfast restaurant or bar on the lake....

I'm coming to this hotel now the third or fourth time since it is no longer a Hilton and managed by Kempinski and every time I come it's getting better.
Most of all the dining experience is a WOW by now and their bar on the second floor or in the underground (Java) are the places to be in town. Just a shame if you have to work the next day attending a conference like I had to.
The only thing I don't really like is the internet solutions they provide, it's either chargeable LAN provided by the hotel or chargeable wireless by Swisscom. While the wireless is even slightly cheaper than the LAN I think in a hotel at this price class they should provide this service free. On the other hand, considering what the other hotels in town charge and what they deliver in terms of bandwidth and user interface the other guests are probably happy to pay.
The rooms are great now and also the Spa as well as the Gym and pool are renovated by now so next time I absolutely don't want to come alone.
The only thing I didn't like was the check out. The staff checking me out started typing with two fingers in slow motion and had to ask every bit he did. He tried to bounce me on to one of the colleagues but they obviously couldn't or didn't want to help much as they were very busy themselves.

Have spent a weekend in Geneva early May. I would love to give it a full score but this would be unfair to few other outstanding hotels there. I can live with the side street entrance and a rather sad looking building (fortunately you can't see it from the inside ;-). But I have to say I have expected more professional staff - from the inexperienced receptionists, slow and inattentive waiters to a bellman misplacing our car keys. Not sure if it is just me being too demanding.... Good points are - lake front location, spacious rooms, incredible amount of TV channels, b'fast on the restaurant balcony was to die for. Would I stay there again? Yes but with lower expectations on the service.

It was staying like in a nice military camp not a hotel. You just go,eat, sleep & come...do not ever expect anyone would be flexible to move little forward. No room request to be made...u might get a room that wasnt even the one which u actually asked for....I was booked by a travel agency, i actually wants to give good rating for the look & location of the hotel but the staff made my stay terrible. They were just repeatedly concern about the money tht we pay but not the service and moreover RUDE...i never saw someone could be as RUDE as this in hotels even when i reported a incident to the supervisor level, he was more rude than their staff.
I called hotel when i wanted a direction but i was put in hold for more than 15 mintz each time i called and thats the same case with other simple requests.
Definately i wouldnt recommend a hotel as this for a pleasant vacation but if you wants to spend sometime in a military like camp thn u can just know the taste.
Beware about the guards(Staffs)

I stayed for three nights early June. I had a very nice, newly redecorated superior room. In my opinion it was very good. Kempinski has almost completed the transformation from the "old" Noga Hilton to a complete Kempinski experience. However, there are still some minor upgrades to be done, for example more attention with respect of service, some more "smiles" and the improving self respect of the personnel.

My expectations of a 5 star hotel were not met at the Kempinski Grand:
Positive:
- Great location, right next to the lake
- Nice restaurant
- fantastic breakfast buffet
- Comfortable bed
Negative:
- My room had very visible stains on the carpet and the furniture in several locations
- Internet access is not free
Given the price, I would choose a different hotel next time.
