I stayed at the Leela Palace for four nights on business. The hotel is very comfortable. The hotel room is on par with a typical Hilton and Marriott. The bathroom is well above average, with plenty of room, a separate room for the toilet, and a walk in shower as well as a tub. There was some street noise, but not much that I could hear from the room. Additionally, the blinds did a good job of keeping out daylight. Finding all the right light switches took a bit of exploring, but after finding them, there are no confusing layouts. The room service hotel staff were excellent. I had a bit of trouble with housekeeping as I did not get turndown service one night. The front desk staff was helpful on the whole, although when I inquired about the safes that a sign in the room mentioned, they could not answer my question.
The hotel is about a 30-45 minute ride from the tech parks / campuses on the east side of Bangalore and in non rush hour about an hour from the new airport.
The adjacent mall is a great spot to get some souvenirs for friends and family back home.

This is my second stay at the hotel, in 5 years, the hotel is still a beauty when it comes to the lobby and the entrance and garden, the rooms are good, but, all of this comes at an unbelivable price that beats even paris and london hotel prices !!!
and with such a high rate, you have to deal with staff who are eager to help you but somehow you feel they are not fully trained, and missing some essentials , like you get charged for internet while you are at club floor.
if i would come again to banglore, the lela is an option, but I will definetly look for other options where the price/value is much balanced, yes you look for luxury but not for 470 USD/ night for a room.

This hotel is aptly named "palace". First class all the way. We stayed on both the club floor and in a standard room. I felt that the standard rooms were excellent, and there was really no need to upgrade, although the complimentary cocktails, hors d'ouvres and breakfast were lovely. The staff, services and facilities are top rate. I had a massage, used the gym and sat by the stunning pool - the best club house sandwhich and fries I have had in a long time. As well, we dined in all of the restuarants, the Indian and Thai/Chinese resturants were fabulous - world class.
If there is a bad room, I didn't see it. The other mjaor competitor as I see it is the Taj hotel in the city. The Taj feels more personal and intimate, while the Leela has a bit more of a big hotel feel. Nonetheless, a great experience.
I am impressed.

Every staff member is very helpful. Nobody comes across as a suck up, just a with genuine to ensure your stay is enjoyed. Staff members always address you by your name (they must run off and check the computer for each person in the restaurant)
the rooms are large, and comfortable. Cleaned well each day. Shower is very nice.
Concierge desk is very helpful. Hotel cars aren't grossly overpriced compared to city taxis.
The restaurants are all quite good for being in a hotel. (The Sunday brunch in the Oriental Restaurant "Zen" is quite a treat)
All in all a great stay. To be honest I expect this type of service for the rates they charge; but it is nice to see that expectation meet consistently.
PS - If you fly Air France from Bangalore in Biz class, they have a "lounge" on the 5th floor for the day you check in. (makes up for not having one at the airport) Food drinks, and then you're whisked to the Airport, led to the front of the security line, and dropped on your plane. Not a bad deal!!!
