The hotel opened in 1999 as an artful, fashionable sanctuary celebrating "Art in Motion" at the crossroads one of the city's most vibrant downtown venues. Conveniently located on the corner of Market and Fourth Street in San Francisco, the entrance to the SOMA district is home to many museums, the Yerba Buena Gardens & SF Giants. Hotel Palomar is just one block from the Moscone Convention Center and steps from Union Square. The Hotel is also within 1 block of the westfield Center that opened it's doors in September 2006 featuring 170 stores, including Bloomingdale's West Coast Flagship store and Century Theaters with 9 screens.
Each oversized guest room also incorporates subdued alligator-print carpet in soft tone and oak headboards with persimmon accents.
