I had my camera stolen out of my luggage. Not only that, the customer service is terrible. Their staff accused me of lying about my camera being stolen, and told me I should have kept it in their lockbox at the front desk. I regret staying there. My entire stay was a nightmare.

We stayed at the Firesky over Mother's Day weekend and had a great time! The hotel is elegant and we found all of the staff to be very helpful. There is a sandy lagoon for kids (our daughter is 18 months old) and a deeper adults pool. Be sure to bring some sand toys and water guns! We stayed at this hotel a few years ago when it was the Sunburst and Kimpton (the new owning group) has done a great job of getting rid of the western themed rooms for a more modern and inviting decor. Request a room facing the garden or pool on the second floor for the best balconies.
Overall the location is great (very close to Old Towne Scottdale and Fashion Square). Plus, the hotel has complementary car service to anywhere in a 3 mile radius.

Stayed for 1 week at the Fire Sky hotel first impressions are very good. We had got a good rate thru a website but when we checked in the receptionist tried to sell us a pool view for an extra 25usd a nte. As staying for a week we declined but the room we got was on the first floor next to the door so was no probs to get the the pool . As others have
complained about we had a pario that looked onto a Wall to be honest this was not a problem as gave us some privacy if we sat out late at night with a bottle of wine. The rooms were very nice and had everything you needed and nothing was a problem for the staff. We only went for the wine tasting 1 nte but enjoyed a few frozen cocktails and sometimes lunch at the pool. The pool was big and plenty beds and towels etc and some kids loved the sandy beach effect pool
and there is a cold water machine so no need to go thirsty.
We did not have a meal in the restaurant as mostly Italian food and garlic not being a favourite but heard was okay.
We went a few nights to the Chaparall suites next door
as they
have a sports Bar were you can get hamburgers chips , salads
Ribeye etc and the bar staff are very friendly.
Its not far from Old town and lots of bars and restuarants so easy to get a taxi and not expensive.
We would go back as enjoyed the sun and relaxing by the pool.

My husband and I stayed at Firesky last weekend for an in-town getaway and had a great time. The Kimpton Hotel group is known for taking old hotels and buildings and creating a modern experience without losing the original charm and character which they have done very well at Firesky, such as the "50's style parking lot , etc" thst many reviewers have complained about. . The rooms were a good size, very clean and we enjoyed the patio. The restaurant, although very organic, served very good food for the mature palate. There were many families staying there and most would certainly not enjoy the food or prices at Taggia. The pool area was beautiful and well maintained. All in all we had a great, relaxing time, which we always do at a Kimpton property.

We were very apprehensive after reading the reviews about this hotel when we went in. We stayed here for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. The first night we were there, they were having a yuppy hour (it only happens once a year and we were there by chance !). There were lots of dogs (not all of them were guests) and they had buffet style food for the dogs and us, humans. They even had beer for the dogs !
We didn't get the pet package (ridiculously priced) but they did give us a room on the ground floor after requesting one, right near the pool. We were able to take our dog everywhere, even to the pool area. We stayed clear of the main area as we didn't want to offend anyone. But we were still able to go in the water while our girl lay on the tiles, catching the sun.
The staff were really nice. The concierge even offered to watch our dog if we wanted to go away for a few hours.
The rooms were nice. We found them spacious and modern. I was surprised by some of the comments in this post about the rooms. Wonder if they have an older wing still !
Overall, all of us enjoyed our stay. This is probably one of few hotel that treated our dog nicely as well.
We did get a very good rate for the rooms. If I were to pay $300 I would definitely expect more.
