I recently stayed at this hotel for three nights.
The setting is outstanding as it is set in the middle of the desert so it is really tranquil and isolated. The rooms are all Arabian themed and very spacious with enormous beds and bathtubs!!
We found the service very good around poolside and never waited more than 5mins before someone got towels for the sunbeds.
The infinity pools are amazing, and very improtant as it gets really hot!!
We ate at a la carte restaurants for two of our three night stay, and at Al Hadheerah on one occassion. We felt the a la carte restaurants were much better value as you got a high quality of food for a competitive price. However, at Al Hadheerah we felt that the price of around ?60 per person was way too much. The setting is outstanding, as is the selection and quality of the food. However, the entertainment was awful!!!
I would definately recommend this hotel, although i would give Al Hadheerah a miss and it is quite pricey!!

My wife and I spent three days in this resort. The theme is that of an Arabian village, with lots of natural materials. The room had a huge bed, all the facilities you expect from a 5 star hotel and a nice “balcony” area (although we were on the ground floor – the hotel is a “low rise” design with only two floors). The bathroom was also very nice, with a huge sunken bath.
Nice the pool with a sufficient number of sun beds but the pool service was not as fast as a guest can imagine in a five stars place.
We had a dinner at Al Hadheerah restaurant:our first impressions was very spectacular: it is a very nice setting, with a huge selection of food and live entertainment throughout the evening. But as everibody knows a buffet is not the top for people who loves to eat great food. So we had a better time at the Indian restaurant. the day after with a menu "a la carte".
The final opinion is that the place is worthwhile for a weekend but i'd not spend more days and money to stay longer.

We had a wonderful stay at the bab al shams. The food was fantastic and the rooms were very nice. My one request would be that they require the children to stay in the kiddie pool, or at least have one adult only pool. On the weekends, there are many children in the pools.

Resort on its own a beautiful piece of architecture. Interior design very unique. The hotel located 30 min away from Dubai in the middle of desert. Beautiful spot to enjoy vacation. The reception very chatty but not competent.
