Came to this small hotel on the way back from Delaware and stayed a few days to sightsee. The metro is close - only 6 blocks - and the neighborhood is in the middle of embassy row. So I found no difficulty 'walking' to many places. (driving in DC is difficult, but it seems like you can walk anywhere). The room was cozy, the staff pleasant, and the overall atmosphere was very welcoming. While the parking fees seem a bit much - $25 nightly - it wasn't enough to deter that much from the experience. I'd definitely stay here again.

After reading the reviews and the reasonable price for the hotel....I thought all was good! However, the problems started even before we entered the hotel.
My husband and I traveled from TX. Here in TX we drive fairly large trucks! So the street this hotel is on is extremely small. This caused a probelm right away with another vehicle that was coming down the street as well. The other driver got very angry with my husband, cursing him etc.. Then I had to call the hotel to find out where to park, our fairly large truck. The hotel tells us, below the garge in the front of the hotel. Well, once we get to this location the hotel manges to tell us the truck won't fit.
So long story short, we had to park at another hotel a few blocks away. You think your getting a good deal on the hotel, but parking is $28 a day. The hotel rooms are extremely small, the carpets were very damp?, Someone was smoking nearby so our room smelled of smoke, contential breakfast, which includes cereal, and danishes is $9!! One night I was a litte hungry, so we called front desk to find the vending machine. The front desk told us there was a 7-11 two blocks from the hotel!! No vending machines!
We were supposed to stay here three nights we cut our stay short it was very unpleasant! I would have rathered spent more money staying somewhere else that was bigger, more convenient, and accessable!!

A little jewel of a hotel near Dupont Circle. Free wifi, helpful front desk, decent, clean room. The last time I stayed in DC I was in an overpriced, chaotic 4* which was totally clueless. This hotel was a fifth of the price, the room was nicer, the staff were better and the location was great.
The only downside was the aircon, which was extremely noisy and rattling. But if you leave it on all day and switch it off at night you're fine.
Highly recommended. I'll definitely stay here the next time I go to DC.

Four of us stayed at Jurys Normandy Inn on 27 April 2008. This was our first time in DC and we weren't sure about the area but we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is easy to find from the Metro but it is about six blocks away and you have to climb a steep hill. The hotel is on Wyoming Ave. next door to the Senegal Embassy. The area is quite nice. There are lots of restaurants and some funky shops. We arrived around noon on a Sunday and there was a farmer's market right off the Metro. We had lunch at Woodley's, a neighborhood bar which was about six blocks north near the zoo, and we had dinner at Odeon's, an Italian restaurant about four blocks south of the hotel. Both were very good. Prices reasonable.
The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
