Me and my girlfriend have just returned from the Apladas Beach, we went for a week and found the hotel to be very good and clean.The staff were very polite and helpfull. The few negative points were, 1, Charge for beach chairs and towels. 2, Choice of Vegetarian food and not marked properly. 3, Charge for the safe in the room. Apart from these few moans we has a great holiday. We did a full day excursion to Ellifanisis and on the way went to see some caves and the scenery was great. We also did a couple of trips to the nearby town of Chania one during the day and one to see the sunset both were very good and we ate at a Taverna in Chania at night watching the sun set. Before going were not to sure about the flight with XL but were pleasently surprised the aircraft was fairly new and enough leg room as long as person infront did not recline there seat. Good journey both ways. We had a fantastic time in Crete.

We have just returned from an excellent holiday in Apladas Beach from 25.08.2007. This is a very nice hotel, at the end of Platanias, in 5 minutes you can find supermarkets, restaurants, bars, etc. It is very easy to reach the 'new road', if you go to excursions with your car. The hotel is quiet, the staff is very friendly. We paid for a seaview room, it's worth the money, the view was fantastic. The hotel has 2 swimmingpools, and one pool for the small children. The pools are nice, quite big, and there were always enough sunbeds and parasols. The sunbeds and parasols are free around the pool, on the beach it costs 5 EUR/day for 2 beds and 1 parasol. If you need beach towel, it costs 1 EUR/day, the safe is 2 EUR/day in the room. Next to the pool is the poolbar, which is very friendly, they offer drinks, snacks. The beach is sandy, and very long, not crowded. The room is nice, with wood furniture, in very good condition. The balcons are quite big. The bus to Chania stops 2 minutes from the hotel, and is a 15 minutes journey by bus. Platanias itself has also a lot of shops, bars, so you can walk,etc in the evening along the street. We liked this hotel very much, this is a very good choice, super location, good service, good quality. We would definitely go back!

We stayed at this hotel in June 2006 for 10 days (me and my wife, 42 years old). The hotel is built in a very quiet area at the end of Platanias village towards the west. The hotel architecture is excellent - all (or almost all) rooms have a view of the sea. Rooms at the 2nd and 3rd floor are more expensive but much better because the 1st floor is about 1 meter below ground level. There is an independent air-condition with remote control in the room together with a refrigerator and a TV set. One brilliant feature - two doors to the balcony: a glass door (closing is necessary for switching-on the A/C) and a net door against flies. You get new towels every day (not take them on the beach). Bathroom is spacious (for one person) with a hair-dryer but without a plug for an electric razor. One Crete rule in every hotel – do not throw a toilet paper into a toilet bowl but into a litter basket only. Meal is very good, both breakfast and lunch - you can choose from 6-8 main dishes and lots of salads, fruits and sweets. Drinks served during dinner are paid. Waitresses and waiters are very pleasant. Sunbeds and parasols are paid on the beach (5 Euro a day for set 2+1) but at pools are free and their number is sufficient. Pools are very clean but too warm (for me). The beach is nice (sand and pebbles) and water is pellucid without any seaweeds. The hotel offers one PC with internet connection. It is located next to a reception and costs 1,5 € for a quarter of an hour. There are not any animation program in the hotel (but I was very pleased with it because there was a pleasant quiet in the hotel all the night - except of noisy russian tourists). A bus stop towards Chania (8 kilometers) is located 200 meters from the hotel and air-conditioned buses goes every 15 minutes (the terminus is situated in the center of Chania 10 minutes walk from beautiful old port).

Everything is really clean and comfortable (except for the beds are kind of hard, but that's okay.) The food is AMAZING times a billion!!!! The dinner buffet is UNBELIEVABLE and there is food for everybody and all different tastes.There is a VERY BIG WIDE VARIETY of food. The pools are good, and the ocean is REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY clean. It's a nice walk out to town, (about 7-10 min) The staff are really kind, and service for drinks during dinner is excellent. The air conditioning in the rooms works fine, and the mosquitos arent a problem if u keep ur balcony closed throughout the day. Theres also a table tennis table (hard to find, but ask where it is) and a pool table. There is only one computer for internet access, and it is kind of expensive, but thats okay because everything else is just FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D
