We arrived at the hotel only to realise it was in the middle of nowhere...nothing in the vicinities except for corn fields and residences. The hotel has no facilities...no pool, games room, shops or anything remotely entertaining. The only thing that was impressive is the impeccable cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms. Everything very neat and tidy...not a speck of dust anywhere. TV was satellite with only a few channels. Most of them in Italian but I didn't mind since we understand and speak Italian.
Being Maltese ourselves, we love our food. We thought food would be good in a 4 star hotel but it was horrible. The breakfast was a rat race...grab what u can because it will not be replaced. Not much choice either...bread was almost always stale. The breakfast was horrible compared to the 4 star hotels in Malta. The dinner was even worse. We were with a tour group on half board basis...it was a good thing since there was no-where else to eat in the vicinities. They served us some grilled chicken on a plate the first night...not even half a breast. Then they gave us a medium salad bowl filled with a few leafs to share between SEVEN people. We complained so the second night we got some chips/fries too...but again...to share with 6 other people. Of course...not everyone got to have some. The owner complained that they fried enough for everyone...when we asked how much he had fried he said he fried 2 kilos of fries. 2 kilos of fries for 50 people. I would think that would not be enough. The restaurant staff where very rude. Even called some people names in Italian but unbeknown to them...two thirds of the population in Malta understand Italian perfectly.
When a group of italians from the southern region came to stay in this hotel it was very very noisy. They knocked on doors and shouted in the corridors at 3 and 4 in the morning. The hotel staff didn't seem to be bothered that they were disturbing other guests.
Anyway you get the idea...its good to stay here if u only interested in a nice clean room and will have your own transport...otherwise stay elsewhere.
