My partner and I stayed here for one night. We have been to many of the major cities in England and had been told that Sheffield was a good night out and so we decided to give it a try.
Finding the hotel is a nightmare and so is getting parking somewhere that is open on Sunday.... only the Arundel Gate one does.
But the hotel is lovely. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful when checking in and gave my partner directions on the phone for the car park.
We booked a maisonnette room which is on two levels and it was very nice indeed.
The room was very clean and modern and the bathroom was trendy with nice toiletries.
We had breakfast in the room in the morning which was very tasty and you get plenty.
I would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel. It is well worth the money.

I stayed in Leopold just for one night on business in Sheffield.
After a three-hour train journey from southern England the hotel was a welcome haven in the midst of Sheffield (which admittedly is not one of the most picturesque cities). The walk from the station was not long but the hotel itself is a bit tucked away in between other historic buildings, so my Google map did not point me exactly to the right place and I had to ask directions along the way.
Once I arrived I was greeted by the receptionist, who was friendly and polite. The room was fab! I loved it. It was modern, clean, with a great bathroom, equipped with soft towels and a bathrobe. The TV was a modern flat screen, directly in front of the bed, so I just stretched out and enjoyed myself.
The bed was soft and comfortable and without a doubt I had one of the best night's sleep I have ever had in a hotel. Very important, especially on a business trip.
In the morning the paper was delivered to my door and I headed down for breakfast. Again, no complaints. It was perfectly adequate, but I cannot comment too much as didn't order anything off the menu but helped myself to the continental buffet.
I would definitely come again and the price was certainly very good for a 4* hotel, under ?100 / night for a king room and breakfast. I can't complain.
Also the hotel is surrounded by a nice selection of restaurants so if an evening meal at the hotel bar doesn't excite, why not try some of the other ones in the square?

Booked dinner, bed and breakfast package. They took my money on checkin but forgot to tell us that the restaurant does not open on Sunday so dinner was a bar meal - selection was from 4 dishes. Staff are mainly students who have had either very little or no training. At breakfast the staff were moving food around with there bare hands. In the bar there were 2 staff, a man from a neighbouring bar came into the hotel with a large plastic bag, went behind the bar and started kissing and canoodling with the female behind the bar and after that started sparring with the male, he then left with his plastic bag full of ice. There is no management at the hotel, it is manned by unqualified and untrained staff.
This is not the standard that the SLH group supposedly aims to achieve, we were very disappointed and can only see the hotel going in one direction, downhill, very quickly.

No one goes to Sheffield for tourism, so the Leopold is an excellent hotel for the business traveller. Centrally located, so everywhere is a short walk away, lovely old building, newly renovated, with a courtyard full of bars to get smashed in if your business deal goes belly up in Sheffield, or if you just want to gawk at the scantily girls of the North.
Very professional atmosphere, internet available (though ?10 a day is steep!), excellent breakfast and an interesting old building. Big beds, good ironing board (believe me, this can be a necessity!).
