below typical best western

We stayed in this bw in july 07..one night stay on road trip from denver. The pool is larger than most which was good for the kids tho it had alot of bugs. The hot tub did not work well..only luke warm and one jet working. The room was typical best western but carpet was very nasty dirty and bathroom tile discustingly dirty. Sign on mirror lists prices that will be added to your room if a towel or any other item is missing after checkout. The stairs outside smelled foul. My kids did not notice a thing and liked the pool. I could not wait to leave. Great rate, but you get what you pay for. There is another best western right next to this one that looked nicer from the outside. This hotel also sits right on the freeway and is a noisy place.

We stayed in the Best Western Wichita Falls for one night in August while on a cross-country roadtrip. We stopped here to visit a friend in the USAF, as this location is really convenient to Sheppard AFB. The room was large, clean and quiet (even next to the freeway, near the Base, and during a major bicycle race). The best part: August is HOT in Texas, and the a/c worked efficiently and quietly. We felt safe, the staff was friendly, the pool was huge, and the price was right. There is a decent Mexican restaurant within walking distance, too. It's not The Plaza, but what's not to like?

This was the second stop we made on a very long road trip. Budget minded, we chose hotels with basic services, nothing fancy. We were happy with the hotel; the beds were reasonable comfortable, the wireless internet worked well, and the continental breakfast was just enough for the price (free!). The pool was clean and refreshing, considering the temps were in the upper 90s.
Make sure to check out Lucy Park, a large area not to far from the hotel, with a pretty little waterfall.
