Basically more the adequate for the job.
Rooms basic, self catering is a squeeze as converted hotel room but functional. Showers etc great. Location excellent. Staff excellent, pool okay (shady sometimes) Food cack but you're surrounded by great restaurants anyway! Cleaners good, Lifts scarey but working okay.
Overall don't be frightened to go for this one its good value and comfortable enough to make it a winner. Enjoy Rhodes its mint!

This is an aparthotel, only a couple of minutes from the excellent beach, and surrounded by the many bars, restaurants and shops of the new town.
We had an apartment, so there was a very small kitchen area with kettle, electric hobs and fridge. However, it was pretty greasy and the size makes it OK for making a salad or sandwiches, but not much else. There was enough cutlery and crockery for the two of us.
The air conditioning was not on for 24 hours during our stay, but thankfully we didn't need it as Rhodes in October is a little milder than the height of summer. Note that you can't have it on if you are out of the room as you have to put your room key in the slot to get electricity.
The bed was comfy enough, and the bathroom had lots of towels and hot water. There was a good size balcony with table and chairs.
There is a swimming pool which is a decent size, and a good bar in the hotel, too. But such is the choice of food and drink nearby, we rarely used it.
The location is very good, but we were above the main entrance, facing the nightlife and you do get some noise at night. But that's the downside of having lots to do close to you!
Rhodes Town is a very good resort, and this was a decent place to stay.

The hotel Athena is a good priced basic hotel in a great location 5 mins from beach and almost on top of lots of bars, cafes and restaurants. We had 2 rooms both were clean, towels changed whenever you left them on the floor and beds changed twice a week. Reception were very helpful, even finding a kettle for us as I thought they were provided in the rooms. Kettles are usually only for apartments. Fridge provided. Showers were nice and hot. Small balcony overlooking other hotels. Breakfast were basic, cereal (like cardboard), toast, croissants, eggs, bacon sausage and beans, greek yogurt and fruit. Could have done with more variety. There is a small pool area that is nice but is shady for most of the day. We preferred the beach although my teenagers did prefer the pool. There is lots to do in Rhodes Town and so many shops! Old Town is lovely with lots of history as well as tourist areas.
