Our second night stay in Alice Springs because of an unexpected delay in plans had us stay here. Price was on special from a last minute booking site. I would say the rooms were a little above the average motel. Somewhat dated but still clean. Pool is small with limited chairs. Since this hotel seems to have a lot of tour bus tourists, most are usually gone during the day for day trips to Ururu. The pool is appreciated as it is in the desert. As a self declared foodie / chowhound and having eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world, I have nothing to complain for the food in Barra. Probably one of the best choices in the limited choices in town, the food was presented well and well priced from the set menu. Service is a little slow as the staffing seems short.

We stayed in the Deluxe River Gum apartments, probably the better of all the other rooms there, the rooms were clean, good aircon, they made our room every day, good security and ideal position for us. Located right on the bank of the Todd River (no water in it when we were there), only a 5-10 min walk to popular bars and restaurants. We ate dinner at the motel restaurant (Barra on Todd), the four of us were very impressed with the food, especially after reading poor reviews on this web site. I would recommend staying here, the ice makers were convenient and was very quiet for us at night.
