It was Ok but they have got a long way to go before they match some other boutique hotels I've stayed in - being a boutique hotel being their stated aim - I found the place really just another business hotel. Not bad at all but not a boutique - just an upmarket business chain for people on expenses - and nothing wrong with that but if I'd known I'd have booked somewhere else
And AUS$49 for a continental breakfat was an outrage - I know that the Aussie dollar is strong against the pound but twenty five quid was taking the mickey
Also they shrank my favourite pair of jeans - yes, I know that worse things happen at sea but I was fond of them and now the legs are 2 inches too short.

I travel a little for business within Australian capital cities and thought the hotels were all pretty much the same - until this one.
This hotel is all about its attitude. From the doorman greeting you from your cab, the concierge always saying hello, the impecably dressed and presented cleaners, maids and wait staff all just literally crackling with drive and professionalism.
This is how hotels should be done.
A room is a room is a room - its the people that make the difference here.
The restaurant is just as fabulous. This would be the classiest buffet breakfast in town without a doubt - take your boss, take your important clients - nobody will be disappointed.
I long to return here.

My husband and I have just stayed here on a friend's recommendation for 3 nights and I can highly recommend it. My husband travels extensively for business, usually staying in 5 star hotels and he too was very impressed. He said the internet connection was extremely fast.
The room was spacious and well appointed and quiet, the bathroom had a bath & shower. The bed was kingsize and very comfortable - we had a great night's sleep. There were tea/coffee facilities and a full size ironing board & iron - often missing in other rooms. A well stocked bar-fridge and large tv.
What makes this hotel outstanding is its staff - from check-in to departure, everyone we dealt with was friendly, professional, knowledgeable but above all - seemed to genuinely enjoy their job and had great time for all the guests. Watch out for the excellent conciege team - in particular Adam, Matt and Mario! They helped with everything from great restaurant recommendations, to which wineries to visit , to tracking down a pair of glasses left in a taxi (and where the Taxi company were of no help)....
The hotel is ideally located, with major attractions and shops within walking distance.
Great Service

We stayed here on New Years Eve and despite the hotel being very busy and very full - the staff were fantastic, very helpful with our enquiries at check in and the concierge was able to help us with information about restaurants. Very down to earth, very friendly service with bags and hotel ammenities, including the bar. We managed to secure a late checkout/day rate for a very reasonabe cost the next day as we had a late flight out of Adelaide. Though it was not the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at - and the room was quite small and dark, the great service left a super impression.
The pool area is a bit tired and needs a refurb - not truly 5* surrounds, but the service was 5*+.

I stayed here with my Dad for two nights and we had a really great time. This hotel is in a great location, right on North Terrace, which also features the wonderful museum (excellent cafe, do stop for lunch there), art gallery, entrance to the botanic gardens and many more attractions - so it's impossible to get lost. Adelaide as a whole is very accessible and compact and extremely welcoming.
Our room was spacious and very clean, the bathroom as well. Breakfast was very high quality. The service throughout is excellent. Outstanding though was the service we had from Marco, the concierge. He could not have been more helpful or friendly and gave me a whole new outlook on what a good concierge might be like: all too often asking a concierge a question can be a bit of a challenge, but not at the Sebel.
