Experienced fantastic customer service from the booking stage (I needed to change the booking and this seemed no problem), to our stay.
Appartment was large and comfortable, and having a kitchen was good for a longer stay.
Close proximity to shops and restaurants, and tours also picked us up from this hotel.
There were no downsides to this hotel and really enjoyed our stay.

We were so disappointed by this accommodations. After reading the previous reviews we expected better. We resided at this residence which is well placed near the center for a week. Our rooms were a fair size however cleanliness was a real issue and even although we spoke with the maid, the situation did not improve.
We were surprised (not pleasantly!) when we were asked to pay almost $5 a night to use the safe in our room.
I'm afraid folks that I cannot recommend this residence.

We were spending the long Easter weekend in Brisbane, which I'd not previously visited, and I wanted a two bedroom place to share with my sister-in-law and her and my kids. Quay West definitely provided the goods.
The property can best be described as a hi-rise residence hotel, with our suite basically a small apartment. Its two best qualities are its location -- directly across from the Botanic Gardens and at the convenient edge of the CBD -- and its wraparound balconies, which allow you to wander around and look out at Brisbane. As best as I could tell, pretty well every apartment looked out on the lovely gardens.
The apartment itself was a little dated -- early '90's at best -- but provided a functioning kitchen, pay TV and movies for the kiddies, comfortable but boring couches and chairs, washer and dryer, etc. We got the last rollaway bed for the children, and everyone had fun bunking in together. The bathrooms were disappointing, too small and plastic everywhere. On the other hand, of particular pleasure was the pool, shallow but intimate, overlooking the CBD, with ram's head fountains providing a mini-massage. We ate breakfast at the smallish restaurant, but later found a more interesting cafe in the park across the road.
Throughout our stay, the staff was immediately helpful, invariably friendly and altogether professional. As it was Easter, there was a huge bowl of chocolate eggs kept by the front desk, impossible not to grab a handful every time we went in and out....yumm.
In sum, not particularly stylish but if you'd like a well-located apartment in town with friendly, helpful service, Quay West will definitely satisfy.

Great location - overlooking parkland in quiet but still central part of Brisbane. Suites are big although in a couple of years' time they'll start to look dated. Dining room area furniture, for example, looks a bit 80s. But the washing machine and dried, supplied with powder, was a real bonus for travellers on a long trip.
Staff really helpful and friendly. Bed very comfy. Didn't try the breakfast but the public dining area looked good.
If there's a drawback, it's the swimming pool, which is small and not particularly inviting.

We stayed at the Quay West on the weekend of 5th Oct. From the moment we arrived till the time we left. The service was friendly and efficient. Nothing was to difficult. Its a long time since we have stayed anywhere were the service from staff at the front counter, restaurant, room service etc was so consistently friendly and helpful.
Its the place we will stay and recommend to friends when going to brisbane again.
