Villas de Santa Fe represents a great lodging value in an expensive town. For well under $200 a night in high season, we had a newly decorated one-bedroom condo, with flat screen tvs, a balcony, and new comfortable furniture. The location is good if not stellar. While it's a five-block walk to the plaza, the location makes for a very quiet place to stay.
This is not a hotel, so do not expect hotel types of services. There is no maid service unless you pay extra for it (or are staying for 4+ days), the concierge keeps odd hours, and there's no on site restaurant or bar. All in all, a great condo rental, and a pleasant place to stay.

This was the cleanest place that I've ever stayed in, and the beds, pillows & furniture were super comfortable. We had a car and found the location to be fairly convenient, but walking to the Plaza is a little tricky - it's not that close and there are lots of busy streets to navigate. The lobby & buildings are very much up to date and attractive, and the staff couldn't be nicer. Wish my stay had been longer!

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying here for a week, starting Memorial Day weekend and were very pleased. We had a suite on the fourth floor and were impressed. We liked the ceiling fan in the bedroom, the mini-balcony, the full kitchen and particularly like the location. It's an easy walk on Griffin Streeet to the Plaza(NOT a busy street) and has free parking and easy access to a grocery store and gas station plus the road to Taos. If you're lucky enough to talk to Tiffany, she'll help you in every way and is a great way to start your stay as she is nice, helpful and has a great sense of humor.
Only drawbacks was someone at the front desk telling a caller we weren't staying there, a few items missing in the condo(no DVD player, no hairdryer and no coffee filters in the kitchen)

We arrived for a five day stay on Saturday after an early bird flight from JFK. All we wanted was to get into the room and relax. We arrived at 2:00 PM. We checked with the desk and our room was ready! Usual check in time is 4:00PM.
The front desk staff was very good, cordial, friendly, and extremely helpful. The resort offers free shuttle service to the 'The Plaza".
The one bedroom unit was excellent, the linens were very good quality, towels were heavy weight. The room was nicely decorated to promote local culture and art.
The resort is centrally located in a residental area. Our room overlooked the the heated hot tub.
Anything we needed was just a phone call away. The resort was a great deal.
We spent most of our time traveling to National Parks including the Pecos National Monument, Santa Fe Historic Trail, Fort Union National Monumnet, Tent Rocks, and Petrogylphs National Park -- photographing as much as possible.
We also visited the Rio Grande Zoo in Albuquerque, and the Sandia Peak Tramway with its great views. The Sandia Casino was a nice side trip for lunch.
If you like hot chile then visit the Horseman's Haven located on Cerrilllos Rd. Great New Mexican cuisine. If your journey takes you to Chimayo, visit the Rancho de Chimayo, which opens for lunch at 11:30 am. Good place to eat after visting the Santuario De Chimayo Mission.
We had a great time on our trip to New Mexico.
