The location is good but that is the end on any positive ideas about the Meiyi. Every time we left the room , the young floor doorman would go through our room. It seamed like our bathroom was popular for the staff to use. The beds were very hard . Room was not that clean, mold on walls etc. Hotel provided a bus to the fair for the first day, them canceled the bus for the next day without telling any one. There were 50 very mad guests that day. Desk staff was not helpfull for any advice about shopping or travel. At $100/ night I expect alot more.

We stayed in Meiyi Hotel during Canton Fair in October, 2006. The hotel has quite good location -500 m from metro, 5 min. walk to quay of Pearl River and 20 min. to Beijing Road. Receptionists hardly speak English, it was really a problem. But there is one guy in administration speaking English who helped us. Thanks a lot to him. Bathrooms are quite shaby, but i should admit that the room rate was among the cheapest in Guangzhou. During the fair the hotel provided a free bus to pavilions. To be frank, i wouldn't stay in the hotel again.
