The beautiful gates and entrance hall give reason to be hopeful that the rooms/restaurant will be equally charming. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. Whilst the rooms were clean and spacious, the decor was decidedly strange. I reminded me of the late 1980's trend for black furniture, with the only prints on the spacious white walls being two black profile silhouettes. It made the room seem cold ... and oh so dated. Service at reception was exemplary, but was absolutely appalling at breakfast - with staff stood in the corner, looking grim, willing you to leave. Breakfast included a good selection of cold meats and a few cheeses, but the fruit was hard and sour (every day of our three day stay) there were no cereals, and we only discovered they had a hot menu on our final day (a reflection of the service). The location is absolutely fantastic, close to the centre, and an easy walk from the train station (provided your bags aren't heavy or can be pulled). To sum up our stay, I'd say don't go here expecting a fantastic charming old hotel - my high expectations left me disappointed. If you want a great location, and spacious room, its perfect - but for the price I'm sure you can do better.

My boyfriend and i stayed in Pod Roza from 22nd to 26th may 2008. Very nice hotel location perfect for everthing being situated so near the square in the old town. We got an appartment which was huge, very big sittingroom bedroom and bathroom all of which were so clean. Breakfast was very nice with both continental and hot food if you wish also found staff very nice. We got taxi from airport which cost 80 zl btr to pay driver than pay at hotel reception 96zl. Only downside was roadworks directly below our window which started about 6.30am every morning we were there.Very annoying we werent told about those when we checked in. Also pity there were no tea coffee making facilites in room apart from that really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to other irish people travelling to Krakow.

Very central is only a few yards from Old Town Square ( its huge ) and loads of restaurants, basic room was very big and had queen sized double bed & whirlpool bath, spotlessly clean, buffet breakfast a bit disappointing. Staff were friendly. Ask at reception for laptop cable for free internet in room. Friday & Weekends were a bit noisy at night from nearby clubs. ?16 from KRK Airport in Taxi, ?2.50 from Krakow Train Station.

What a brilliant place to stay. You would never guess from the wrought iron gates what lies behind. Our room was excellent. The bed one of the most confortable I have ever slept in.The room was lovely, the bedding so crisp and clean. The bathroom was superb, the underfloor heating, the cleanliness were second to none. The breakfast was excellent, the dining room was beautiful, a wonderful place to start the day. The staff were most helpful. A well stocked mini-bar was provided but the only complaint would be the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in your room. Certainly a hotel I would return too.
