I stayed in this hotel a few weeks back. I was really looking forward to the trip because it was my first time in China. The whole trip was ruined by this hotel. Nobody had any english at all. The staff were extremely rude and intimadating. I work in the hotel business myself, but the staff in this hotel dont seem to understand that the customer comes first, as we are the ones that pay their wages. The hotel staff would often ring very late in the night and wake you up, after ringing the wrong room. This must of happened about 7 nights out of the 9 nights I stayed there. I am really appalled by this hotel. I rang for room service one night and all I got was some extremely rude staff, who just left me on the phone as they chatted away amongst themselves. It makes me feel sick to have wasted so much money to stay in this, what was advertised, 4 star hotel, more like a 1 star in my opinion. I would definately not recommend this hotel to anybody as it is a disgrace of a hotel. The staff would want to get there act together or this hotel will close down in time.

I stayed with 3 friends in Lee Wan Hotel...on holidays.
We found the front desk reception staff to be most unfriendly, unhelpful and totally devoid of any grasp of the English language. The only person who spoke a small grasp of english was the Assistant Manager. A smile now and again would go a long way!
The Lobby Coffee Bar Lounge was most unsatisfactory. The coffee or latte or whatever was served no more thatn luke warm.Items shown on the Menus when pointed out or requested were often met with a shake of the head. No effort to go the extra mile by way of helping their guests. This place closed down at about 11.30pm.
The buffett restaurant on the 23Floor though plentiful in choice was always served luke warm. Very off putting.
No such thing as frree shampoo or hair conditioner....this must be a first. The two small bottles of mineral water left in bedrooms...guess what you pay or go thirsty...small things but miserly to guests.
We did not feel welcome in this hotel...rather a nuisance to them.We reqested three rooms to gether for our group...needless to say this did not happen...one of the rooms was on several floors above the other two...which were also well away from each other.
When I phoned room service I was greeted by someone who spoke no english...when i placed myu order with great difficulty was left on the phone to listen to room service staff having a great laugh at the other end of the phone...I have never in my life experienced such total lack of professionalism. And we paid good money for this!.
We will never return.

As a business traveller attending an education seminar in dalian i have been so upset at the service provided that i have checked out after the first night. This hotel claims to be a four star however it does not appear this way.
1. We booked four weeks in advance asking for rooms for our children (10 +12) to be next to us. This has not happened - they have been placed at the other end of the floor - TOTALLY UNEXCEPTABLE FOR INTERNATIONAL VISITORS WHOSE CHILDREN ARE OVERSEAS FOR THE FIRST TIME.
2.`$200 chinese dollars to be picked up by hotel at the airport (most hotels provide this here for no extra cost)
3. No one can speak english which means it is difficult to make phone calls ect
4. You must pay $60 each to have a swim in the hotel pool.
4. there is no coffee or tea making facilities in the room - you must have acoffee in the foyer at a cost!!
5. If you want a tourist map you must pay $25 - every hotel i have ever stayed in provides tourist information free of charge
6. The manager is extremely rude and intimidating.
BY INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS THIS IS NOT A FOUR STAR HOTEL.

This is a chinese 4 star hotel, which means 3 star for those outside china. Dalian is quite expensive overall, but you can get a standard room here at Lee Wan Hotel for about 40usd. They must cater to mostly locals, koreans, japanese and russians since there are no english channels. Room is very clean, good location in business district, next to the port. Big massage/sauna center for those who want it. Can walk to nightlife and restaurants.
