The location is optimal, however the room was too small for a 4 stars hotel, the bathroom was stinky, the temperature way too hot and the noises from the road quite unbearable.

The Colombia Hotel is located within easy access to Milan's Central Station and had availability the Thursday and Friday nights required on a recent business trip. The hotel was a little basic but clean and offered a secure but slightly impersonal feeling. I had a non smoking room and it was OK. This hotel has free internet access (1 pc) which I hadn't discovered the previous visit despite my fluency in Italian. Its a no frills kind of place but reasonable value for money on normal days. The rates do go up (as they are prone to) during times of the Fiera. I would recommend Hotel Columbia but not if you are used to staying at top flight hotels or trying to impress anyone.

Convenient location but the hotel was pretty bad considering it is supposed to be four stars. Smelly, old room and air conditioning just didn't cool the room at all. Staff not particularly friendly and breakfast is not worth waking up for! Given Milan hotels seem to be full all the time, I guess there isn't much choice

We needed a clean hotel, near the Central train station. Hotel Columbia was ideal. It is a well run modern business class hotel, 2 blocks from the station, in an OK area. Recently refurbished and non smoking rooms were nice, if not oversized, with a large bathroom, and a real shower. Location can't be beat, if you're looking for a place near the station and the Metro. Weekend rates were 100 Euro for a double. Weekday rates are surely much higher, but it was very clean and well equipped. Breakfast was just OK, but we weren't looking for a resort hotel-just a place to sleep near the station, before catching a bus to Malpensa. Would stay here again for sure. A great find.
