We have just returned from a long weekend in Prague. Hotel Fortuna RHEA was part of a deal we got for flight and hotel, and chose it based on the official description and photos...we should have kept looking!
The Hotel Fortuna boasts a 3 star rating, located in a quiet area of Prague (Prague 10), and by no stretch of the imagination does it deserve the rating. It is a hostel. The building is a deteriorating communist era high rise apartment building in an area that would be considered a Council Estate in England. For school trip groups of loud and rude students, of which there were 5 different groups over the weekend, it is perfect. But for adult travellers, even those on the tightest budgets, it is worth PASSING UP.
The staff were friendly and very helpful and pleasant. We were quickly switched from a room with 4 beds on a floor with a student group to what we actually paid for, which was a double room for JUST us.

Please don't stay here.

This hotel is just exactly what you would expect of an eastern block highrise. Drab, dreary and a little unsavoury. I only felt safe in my room when the door was locked and had the safety chain on. We had items stolen from our LOCKED room. The police were helpful but didn't hold out any hope of recovering our property which was obviously stolen by staff members. This pilferage is rife as we saw police in the hotel on every night of our stay. Indeed on the night prior to our departure there were 7 police cars and a Black Maria at the hotel. The rooms were cold, and the windows were drafty. Stay here at your peril!!
