We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. As it was deemed 2 Stars by European standards I wasn't expecting much. However, the room was large and comfortable and I was thrilled to discover it had a fabulous view of the Alps. The bathroom had obviously been added in recently- it was a large plastic cabin complete with shower, sink and toilet! Breakfast was varied and plentiful every day- loads of lovely fresh breads, cheese, meats, cereals, eggs, fruits. In fact, the best continental breakfast I have ever had! Staff were very quick to keep items stocked up so even the later risers had a full spread awaiting them The location was fantastic- difficult to get lost when you are staying practically under the Triumphal Arch. There is no street parking nearby though so expect to drive in circles for a while to track down a space or cough up for multi storied parking.

El Goldene Krone está situado muy cerca de la estación de tren, así como del casco antiguo (Altstadt), donde están la mayoría de los lugares turísticos. También hay una parada de autobús justo fuera. Estuvimos en la habitación 109, que tenía un tamaño medio. El baño era pequeñito, pero lo que esperábamos de un hotel europeo medio. El desayuno era bueno, típico austriaco con un surtido de carnes, panes, cosas para untar, tostadas, cereales, zumo, café, té, etc.--El mismo desayuno que nos dieron en todos los hoteles donde nos alojamos en Austria y Alemania. El personal era muy amable y el hotel en sí mismo era tranquilo y estaba limpio -- las habitaciones que dan a la calle tienen algo más de ruido a las horas punta, ¡pero este es un hotel de ciudad! El tema de la gente fumando no estaba nada mal en el hotel. Muy buena experiencia, ¡sin duda me alojaría allí de nuevo!

The Goldene Krone is located within easy walking distance of the train station, as well as the old city (Altstadt), where most of the tourist sites are located. Also there's a bus stop right outside. We were in room 109, which was of average size. The bathroom was tiny, but what we expected of a mid-range European hotel. Breakfast was good, a typical Austrian breakfast with a variety of meats, breads, spreads, toast, cold cereal, juice, coffee, tea, etc.--same breakfast we got in every other hotel we stayed at in Germany & Austria. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel itself was quiet and clean--rooms on the street side are a little noisier at rush hour, but this is a city hotel! Smoking in the hotel was not bad at all. Very good experience, and would definitely stay there again!

Mi novio y yo nos alojamos en el Goldene Krone durante nuestras vacaciones de esquí en los Alpes. Estábamos intentando limitarnos a un presupuesto razonable, y para eso el Goldene Krone fue genial. El personal era amable y servicial, y aunque el alojamiento era lo mínimo, era del todo suficiente, y nuestra habitación tenía unas vistas fabulosas. El desayuno que incluía supuso también una ventaja para nuestro presupuesto. No era como IHOP, pero daba el pego :)
