We went to Florence for a short break. The hotel was really really really nice. Very clean and the staff were all very attentive and extremely polite. The breakfasts were delicious, and the happy hour/s of complimentary wine, juice and snacks were brilliant. A superbyly ran hotel with a lovely personal touch, we will definately be visting again very soon.

We stayed for three nights at the Hotel David. The facility is very charming with wonderful architectural features and a comfortable atmosphere.
Every night they have complimentary wine & snacks out on the terrace or in the living room of the weather is not cooperating. This is a wonderful way to meet other people at the hotel so we can share our experiences and get advice on what to see, do and where to eat.
The staffs were very helpful and could not have been more attentive. One afternoon after a hard day of sightseeing, I went down to the little bar area and asked for a glass of wine to take to my room. When I went to pay for it, the fellow said that it was complimentary. How nice and generous of him and the hotel.
The breakfasts were also very good with lots of choice.
The location was fabulous. We were out of the hubbub of the Centro but had easy access with a 5-minute bus ride from our hotel.
If I were to return to Florence, I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Hotel David was a splurge for us on our trip to Italy in June 2008. It exceeded all our expectations.
Our room was very comfortable and well appointed and included a sparkling bath with generous shower and fluffy towels.
But the best part was the lavish breakfast which included not just cereals and rolls, but also antipasto meat and cheese, coffee cakes and other sweets, fresh fruit salad or whole fruits and yogurt, and orange juice, coffee and tea. Everything was self serve and we were happy to be able to forego lunch and keep sight seeing.
Travelers who enjoy American and British B&Bs will love Hotel David. In addition to the fabulous breakfasts, the hotel offers a happy hour with aperitifs, white and red wine, and snacks, served in the lounge or outdoors in the beautiful garden. We enjoyed sitting outside having a glass of wine and visiting with other hotel guests.
I would definitely recommend Hotel David to all American travelers to Florence. It was a terrific value.

I stayed here with my husband and a friend last weekend. What a fantastic choice! Urged on by the Trip Advisor recommendations of good service we chose this hotel for our final weekend in Tuscany and it did not disappoint. From the second we pulled up in our hire car we were made to feel welcome and at home. The front of house staff are simply fantastic. They recommended great restaurants - and before we ventured out each day they checked our arrangements as there was a festival going on and not all activities and exhibitions were open as advertised. The staff phoned ahead, booked taxis, arranged tickets and did simply everything to make sure our days went exactly as planned. The hotel itself is in a cool, quiet part of Florence away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre which is a 15 / 20 minute stroll away along the banks of the Arno. If it's too hot to walk there are 2 bus stops just over the road and taxis arrive within minutes of being called. Our rooms were nice enough with window shutters and good air conditioning (essential!!) and all the amenities you'd expect in a 3/4 star hotel including king sized beds, mini bar and satellite TV. Breakfast is a cold buffet and the "happy hour" provides free wine / soft drinks and nibbles on the terrace between 6.30pm and 8pm. But it is the staff who make this hotel - I can't praise them enough - they were superb!
