Stopped at the Hotel Trevi 10-13 June 2008 and didn't know what to expect. We stayed in a double room outside the hotel, but was only 5 metres away. The Reception staff were extremely helpful and the rooms were great. Tidy and with a very modern bathroom. Breakfast was continental and couldn't be faulted. For location this place cannot be beaten. We walked everywhere from here and were less than 100 metres from the Trevi Fountain. Even though we were this close it was very quiet at night.
I would recommend this hotel.

When we checked into this hotel we were informed immediately that they were overbooked so they tried to convince us that we were getting "upgraded to an apartment". What they didn't tell us was that the apartment was a block up from the hotel with a door that opened to the alleyway without any windows. We had to stay at this hotel for 3 nights with a staff that was extremely rude to us our entire stay. After 2 weeks in Italy staying in multiple hotels this was by far the worst. Finally, we scheduled an airport transfer through the hotel the night before we left and were repeatedly assured by the front desk that the transfer company accepted credit cards. Then the morning of our taxi was 15 minutes late and informed us that they did not accept credit cards. The lady at the front desk seemed annoyed when we asked her to call the transfer company to see where they were. I hate that we had to end such a fabulous vacation with this hotel.

Three of us stayed in a room and we found it very small. They provided us with a roll away and two twins pushed together. I think they could have offered something better.
I had a great deal of difficulty working with one of the desk clerks before my arrival. I could never get a confirmation for my pick-up from the airport to the hotel so we were stuck waiting once we arrived. Then when we called to ask a question they were a bit rude.
The shower in our room was extremely small, every time I lifted my arms I turned off the water. So if you are a bit on the large side you'll have problems. From reading the others reviews it appears they have larger bathrooms so stay away from room 301.
Hotel Trevi offered a decent breakfast on the roof top, which did get pretty crowded after 9:00. Everything is expensive in Rome so to have one meal you didn't have to pay for was nice.
Aside from that and sounding unhappy......our stay was good because really we only needed a place to rest our heads and would stay there again. The staff was extremely helpful and very accomodating. The location was perfect and close to everything.

This hotel offers a top location in the midst of ancient Rome, with rooms for all needs. Walking distance to everything, even the Vatikan if your're fit. But don't look for the bar, leisure area or library section. Hotel Trevi is just rooms and a reception. Half of the hotels rooms are even outside the building!
Stayed for three nights with pregnant wife on her 40th birthday.
We stayed first night in a double room on ground floor in an adjacent street. Only window was high above the door. Clean, w/ shower and Italien TV channels. Small but no box feeling. No safe working. Minimal sounds from the street outside that had only people walking by, no cars or mopeds. OK for a night on lowest budget. A bit unsecure feeling for light sleepers.
Got a free upgrade to larger "junior suite" next day, on 6th floor without elevator, in another street nearby. Beautiful bath with tub and window. The spacey room had to floor-to-ceiling window wich opened over a small square with a trattoria and the street underneath. Still quite despite the location 30 m from the Trevi fountain. A bargain!
Breakfast served on the hotels roof terrace, so you had to get out of the buildings and over to the hotel to get meal. The terrace is a glassed room, and not with other view than the neighbours terraces. Good breakfast with mix of bread and pastry, no hot meals. A bit crowdy after 9. But good service and nice atmosphere. Unfortunately the terrace is only open during breakfast.
We experienced the hotel as a well driven, nice, clean and top service hotel despite the modest look and image it shows. Good value for shure.

Stayed at the Hotel Trevi from 13th-17th April 2008, and was pleasantly surprised by this hotel, after reading some reviews of this hotel. The location was excellent (only approx 200 yards from the Trevi fountain) and also good for other attractions in Rome (we walked to everything that we wanted to see (Colloseum, Vatican Zoo, Museum Borhese, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Vittorio Emanuele Monument etc) and nothing was more than 30-40 minutes walk away. Room was clean, good sized shower in bathroom, and all towels etc where changed every day. Air conditioning worked well and was quiet. The only negatives I would say were that the rooms where on the small side (although I understand not a unusual thing for Rome). The selection at breakfast was a bit limited (even to have some facility to do/have toast would have been enough really). Also in the mornings it could get a bit noisy in the street outside as people went about their work, this would not be a problem if you slept with the window closed, as double glazing good. Also would recommend for shuttle from airport www.romeshuttlelimousine.com excellent service nice polite drivers and good value (35 euro's each way). Once again was pleasantly surprised by this hotel and would recommend.
