I stayed at this hotel at the end of September for two nights and it's like a little bit of countryside in the city. A very peaceful and calming hotel even though there is a main dual carriageway adjacent to the hotel, but the windows are very well sound proofed. The room smelt smokey but other than this was more than adequate for my stay. Kingsize bed, mini bar, some complimentary fruit, flat screen TV with satellite channels, shower but no bath, plenty of complimentary toiletries. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Free use of the internet and a lovely seated area outdoors to have your breakfast. Breakfast was coffee, juices, cereal, toast, ham, cheeses, fruit, croissants, yoghurts, lots to fill you up for a busy day of walking in Bologna. The big newly built sister hotel about 100 yards up the road had a nice restaurant which was very reasonably priced. The hotel is very convenient to get into Bologna, the number 20 bus runs every 5 mins Mon-Fri and every 10 mins on a Sunday, and takes you right into the centre of Bologna, Piazza Maggiore. It costs 1 euro for 60mins travel, and you buy the ticket on board at a machine normally in the middle of the bus, and then once you get your ticket you validate it in the yellow machine onboard. Very cheap and reliable transport. Overall a great hotel, reasonably priced and very nice to come back to after a busy day in the city.

I stay in Bologna regularly for business and have had the opportunity to stay in this hotel three times. It is a quite and peaceful location in the San Donato area of Bologna. Very clean and friendly with an excellent breakfast. I enjoy the tranquility and the more "country home" atmosphere of the hotel. Internet is available in the lobby and one of the hotel buildings has wireless internet in it but it is not always working. There is a major city bus line that passes in front of the hotel if you don't have a car and the reception desk can tell you which lines to catch to go where you want to. The owners have just recently completed a large hotel just around the corner from the country home. I have stayed there once and will review it separately. Again, this is a good value for the quality receive and I recommend it highly.

Vado a Bologna regolarmente per motivi di lavoro e ho alloggiato al Savoia per tre volte. È situato in una zona tranquilla del quartiere di San Donato, è molto pulito e accogliente e offre un’ottima prima colazione. La tranquillità e l’atmosfera da “casa di campagna” che contraddistinguono quest’hotel sono le cose che ho apprezzato di più. Nell’atrio c’è l’accesso Internet e in uno degli edifici che compongono l’hotel c’è anche la connessione senza fili, ma non è sempre funzionante. Se non avete l’auto, davanti all’hotel troverete la fermata di una delle principali linee d’autobus, chiedete informazioni alla reception. I propietari del Savoia hanno appena completato un altro hotel, si trova appena dietro l’angolo. Io ci sono già stato una volta, ma per quello scriverò una recensione a parte. Ripeto, il rapporto qualità/prezzo è eccezionale, lo consiglio vivamente a tutti.
