I should be writing a review about the standard room that we booked for the last night of our vacation in Portugal, but upon arriving sweaty, hot, and tired after a day of sightseeing, we received the quite unexpected (and appreciated) gift of an upgrade to a luxurious 2-bedroom suite by the fabulous front desk clerk.
Rooms were perfect, and the modern climate controls (which ensured a good night's sleep in a cool room) were much appreciated. The main bedroom was -- as is befitting a suite -- spacious and comfortable, and we would have enjoyed the ample closet space if we had been able to stuff a few more outfits into our overflowing backpacks.
The bathroom was simply fantastic, and looked like it had been built for simultaneous use by a family of six. We certainly had no need to use the heaters or heated towel racks, but this would be a nice touch in cooler months. The bathtub was clean and -- unusually for Europe -- long enough to be perfect for six-footers.
Alif Hotel Lisbon is certainly deserving of all the recommendations it's received on this site.

Acceptable service. Room clean and serviced daily. Convenient location. Bus to airport 3mins walk.Metro 2 min walk. Buffet breakfast could be improved poor warm food selection, plenty pastries and tinned fruit some fresh fruit also available. Value for money quite good.

Excellent hotel, shower did not work properly (not full flow of water). But would recommend hotel. Would stay again at this hotel if in Lisbon.
Room was comfortable and very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was amazing and WIDE selection of food on offer including scrambled eggs, sausages, fruit salad, toast, yoghurt, fresh fruit and variety of breads, cereals and pastries. We encountered no noise in the hotel during our stay, as we were located on the back-end of the hotel.
Hotel conveniently located near metro stop (2 minute walk), however, walk to Marcques de Pombal (square / park) about 25 minutes. Centre of Lisbon (Rossio) 40 minute walk. From airport, less than 10 minutes drive and on a meter taxi (yellow / cream) only 7 euros (including 1.60 for luggage but no more than 10 euros!!) however a private taxi (black) may charge about 15 euros.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a week. It's a fantastic hotel and great location (nearest metro campo pequeno). the breakfast has a delicious range of hot and cold foods. The only downside was we had asked for a double bed but got given to single beds. We could not push them together because of the bedside table that was immoveable. Would definitely stay there again.
