We arrived in acqui terme and were recommended to this hotel by the tourist office, who were one of the friendliest, welcoming and most helpful tourist offices that i have encountered.
They booked the room for us ( my Italian being very poor) and and negotiated a rate - I asked if they could upgrade us to a Suite as this was mentioned in the hotel brochure, which they did.
The hotel is a magnificant building, lovely reception area entrance with mural and stair case etc. I nearly dropped when they showed us the huge suite - Bedroom, Dressing room, bathroom, Large living area, Full kitchen, balcony, etc etc and we immediately decided to take the room(s) for another night.
Reception staff were a little cold, but as there was a separate ex / entrance throught the back of the hotel you could avoid them if and come and go freely - was also handy for access to the public parking area
Would strongly recommend the hotel is a beautifull building - the town itself is interesting, the people friendly,
Breakfast is buffet syle - and included in cost.
The rate negotiated by the tourist office for us ... an amazing EUR 89.00 per night including breakfast for two ....which on a a sq ft basis has to be the cheapest accomodation if have stayed in. This price was not available on the weekend otherwise we would still be there. ( normal cost was c EUR 275 )
