I went to the lovely Color Hotel with my mum and our dear friends and also their daughter who is slightly younger then me. We all had a great time. It is situated next to next to a nice big supermarket which came in handy when we needed to stock up on water, food and drinks for the evening. It is very close to the banks/chemists/bars/restaurants. There are two lovely swimming pools on site, one with a pool bar which serves a variety of tasty snacks and bites to eat. I normally had the pizza which tasted very nice. When i went it was just before the hotel was renevated but since then we normally pass the hotel when going back and forward to the airport and it still looks pretty much the same but with the new decor out the front. The staff at the time were very friendly and always happy to help. I myself am quite a fussy eater but their dinner's were very nice and i always managed to finish off every bit. The hotel is located very close to the lake (just across the road really). Once by the lake you can take a nice stroll passed the lively restaurants and bars. As i at the time was just turning 18 and our friends daughter was 15 we was all happy to just chill out most nights either at a local bar and watch the world go by but some nights my mum and I were fine siting on the balcony as it was relaxing up there. They normally have fire work displays each week which was nice as being close to the lake meant you get a good view. I would definitly recommend the hotel to anyone. My aunt went the year after us and she enjoyed it very much. I think my boyfriend and i will be booking up to go there soon as he has never been to Italy and out of all the hotels i have stayed in at Lake Garda this was definitly my favourite one.

We read the reports and the brochures and from a fleeting visit in summer of 2007, we decided to book a weeks holiday in July this year in between starting in Venice and finishing in Verona. I am pleased to report that this hotel is good, but from our experience, it is nowhere as good as the reports suggest.
This hotel is really good at selling itself and it is easy to believe all the hype written by it and for it in the reviews. Once you get beyond the whole "color" concept thing, you get a hotel that is good but is in a poor location and overall, is not really worth what you pay for it.
Having said all this, we would recommend it. We enjoyed the week we spent in the hotel and enjoyed the week in Bardolino.
If you want a good, quaint and quirky hotel, then the Color could be the one for you. If you want better value, then I suggest you look elsewhere.

Just back from a week's stay booked on the strength of reviews here and it is simply impossible to find fault with this hotel (and as a regular traveller, I usually manage to find at least one niggle). The staff are all incredibly friendly, the walk to the lake and Bardolino is relatively easy and takes in some very pleasant scenery and it was close to both the supermarket and the drop off point for the tours we had booked. There is a choice of 3 swimming pools, all of which are incredibly clean and have lots of space for lazing around.
I was slightly concerned that prices may be high both in the hotel and in the area following some earlier reviews, but the local restaurants all provided high quality food at very reasonable cost and even in the hotel bar, we were able to enjoy a bellini for a (very reasonable when you're used to city cocktail prices!) 8 euros. I would go back here in a minute.

We have just returned from our second stay at the Color Hotel, Bardolino. Having stayed there before 2 years ago we new what to expect however with their recent improvements which includes addtitional pools and bathing areas to the rear of the hotel with private access, this hotel just keeps getting better and better!! The new lounging/bar area around the main swimming pool is also out of this world. On our last stay we booked an Armonia Suite which was beautiful and on this occasion we stayed in a Spa Junior Suite which was also fantastic. The hotel staff are always welcoming and helpful and it is impossible to pass any of the housekeeping staff without receiving a polite good day/afternoon/evening. For us, Bardolino is the best central location when staying on Lake Garda and the Color Hotel is the best hotel for cleanliness, friendly staff, great food and beautiful surroundings. In fact, we have decided that we will make an annual visit to Bardolino/Color Hotel for at least one week over the next few years as it is so relaxing and has everything that we look for in a holiday.
