Ich kann nur abraten, dort abzusteigen. Das Hotel Corallo ist durch eine vielbefahrene Hauptstrasse mit Durchgangsverkehr sowie durch ein Bahngeleise von jeglichem Zugang zum Meer abgeschnitten. Es liegt in einer lauten, dreckigen und verwahrlosten Gegend ohne Moeglichkeiten zum Flanieren. Somit muessen alle Wege mit dem Auto erledigt werden. Das naechstgelegene Dorf, Taormina-Mazarro, ist ca. 2 km entfernt. Die Hotel-Website ist irrefuehrend, die Ruecktrittsbedingungen unguenstig. Wir haben unsere Buchung fuer zwei Naechte storniert und werden das Geld wohl ganz abschreiben muessen.

I was really looking forward to a long awaited vacation and chose this hotel for three nights since, based on its website pictures, I thought it was right on the water given the pictures and it was rated with four stars. What a disappointment this place was - it is not only not on the water, it is across the street from the train station and has other apartments and/or hotel rooms also in between the hotel and the water. The room smelled and seemed to be moldy - my husband started getting an allergic reaction as soon as we got there. The air conditioning was poor and didn't seem to be influenced by how you set the temperature which is a problem since the noise from the traffic and trains is very loud if you don't have the windows completely shut. One of the two small elevators was out of service the day I arrived and at one point it looked like at least a 20 minute wait to get an elevator when a tour bus arrived. The shower is about two feet square and the breakfast was certainly nothing special. I knew I wanted to leave after 20 minutes but it was an incredible ordeal to get them to agree to not make me pay for all three nights. As it was, I stayed for one and finally agreed to pay for two. Taormina has turned into an incredible tourist trap - there are many other far better placed to go in Sicily.

The hotel website makes this hotel look like a four star establishment; however, this hotel treated us with no welcome or accommodation. The room we ordered over the phone with the desk assistant was COMPLETELY different than the one we were placed into. After asking about moving rooms, we were treated rudely and given no change in rooms. Being that the room was not going to work for the three of us, we were forced to ask for the room we asked for or leave. They told us to leave and then despite all reasoning with them, they charged us for ALL 8 DAYS OF STAY when we left after the first night! Only after disputing the credit card were we able to only pay the one night we stayed (in the smaller, wrong room). No customer service, rude staff, bad room management, and an online description of completely different atmosphere makes me rate this hotel worse than any other we stayed in on our five week trip through europe.

Beautiful hotel, which everyone in our group of 33 liked. The musicians in our group appreciated early evening use of the breakfast area to play music together on two evenings. Excellent breakfast buffet. We appreciated the breakfast bags on departure day. We did not take meals in the hotel, as we spent most of our days in the center of the town of Taormina. We would be happy to return there.

This hotel has the worst possible location. It is practically in the railroad station. Therefore, if you need to catch an early train, this hotel is fine, otherwise do yourself a favor & look elsewhere. Also, they are loaded with tour buses full of groups. And those are the only customers the hotel's staff are concerned about. Taormina is gorgeous, so stay up in the town, or even at the beach, but DO NOT stay here.
