Our Hotel Porto Azzurro*** is located at just few metres from the shores of Garda lake, in a quiet residential area. The rooms furnishedin valuable cherry wood are provided with a wide balcony/terrace, air-conditioning, TV-sat, telephone, and safe, bathroom en suite with hairdryer. You will also find a 18mt x 9mt swimming pool, garden, deck-chairs with beach-umbrellas, tenni court, a wide solarium terrace with fountain overlooking the lake, a Tv leisure room with corner bar, lift, a free garage and a parking place. The house restaurant offers a delicate cousine with choice of menus served with the Garda wines and salad buffet.
In the nearby beach you can practise many water sports and you can enjoy nice strolls along the harbour and the peninsula of Sirmione.
A nice promonade 2 Km. along the lake leads to the antique village of Sirmione "pearl of the peninsulas and the islands" that still nowadays allow us breathing medieval fascinations and admier picturesque sights that have escapade the follow time.

We were planning to stay for 3 nights at this hotel, but unfortunately our plans were runed by the manager of this hotel... During our staying at this hotel the air conditioning was off, we asked for two days to turn on because of hot weather and there was not possibile to open the door to the balcony because of mosquitos. Every time the clerk on the reception was promissing us to take care of this and every time he was wondering why the manager turned off the air conditioning. On the third day in the morning (before our last night of staying) we met the manager and asked him about it, and he said us that this is the rule in this season that air conditioning is off all the time... (There is no note about this rule on their internet-site, and how is that his own employee didn't know about this rule???) Also he said that he "didn't come this morning dispute and we can choose rather to be quiet or to leave"! So... we left to another hotel for our last night...

Reviewer- Golders, Lichfield , England Stayed here the last week of July 2007. Found hotel staff to be helpful and whilst their english was not good it was adequate and much better than our Italian. Room was excellent with good air conditioning ( and spotlessly clean ) and overlooked the pool area. The restaurant food was varied . We found the hotel to be a quiet haven which suited our requirements ( so not for those seeking evening entertainment) . The hotel is very well situated for access to the autostrada for touring the locality and also has easy access to the ferry services at Sermione.

Fanden die Hotelangestellten sehr hilfsbereit, und wenn ihr Englisch auch nicht besonders gut war, reichte es doch aus und war zumindest viel besser als unser Italienisch. Zimmer war ausgezeichnet mit guter Klimaanlage (und makellos sauber) und Blick auf den Poolbereich. Das Essen im Restaurant war abwechslungsreich. Für uns war das Hotel ein friedlicher Zufluchtsort, der unseren Bedürfnissen gerecht wurde (für diejenigen, die Wert auf Abendunterhaltung legen, eher nicht geeignet). Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr praktisch für die Autostrada, um die Umgebung zu erkunden, und auch der Fährservice in Sermione ist bequem erreichbar.

Stayed here as a base to explore the southern end of Lake Garda. The hotel was clean and pleasant, with its own pool (which was rather cold - but welcome on a very hot day!). The staff were friendly and our room, although rather basic, was clean and had a balcony overlooking the pool and Lake Garda in the distance. Breakfast was good - but we didn't have the evening meal. The only down side is the location. While it's in a pleasant and quiet residential area, it's a 20 minute trek to the bit of Sirmione everyone goes to see. Not a major problem, but if you want to sample Sirmione's restauants of an evening, you have a reasonable walk back when you're full of pasta and pizza! We hired a car, and the hotel's underground car park was more than adequate - as well as being secured at night. Overall, a good base to explore this area, if you have a car.

Lo abbiamo usato come base per visitare la riva inferiore del Lago di Garda. L’hotel è pulito e piacevole, ha una piscina propria (l’acqua era fredda, ma col caldo che faceva andava più che bene!). Il personale era gentile e la stanza, anche se piuttosto spartana, pulita e con un balcone che dava sulla piscina e, in lontananza, sul lago. La colazione era buona, ma non posso dire nulla della cena, perché non l’abbiamo provata. L’unico inconveniente è la posizione. È in una zona tranquilla e bella, ma dista dal centro di Sirmione almeno 20 minuti a piedi. Non è un gran problema, ma se volete provare i ristoranti di Sirmione, dovete mettere in conto una bella passeggiata a pancia piena! Abbiamo affittato una macchina, e il parcheggio sotterraneo dell’hotel era più che adatto e sicuro. Nel complesso, davvero un bel punto di riferimento per visitare la zona, se avete una macchina.
