A wonderful holiday great hotel.

This is a great hotel in a great location with the lake directly opposite. From the hotel its a very pleasant 10 minute walk along the lakeside to the harbour shops and resturants. The rooms are superb and very clean and spacious with air con which was great as the weather was extemely hot during our stay. We stayed in a superior room but to be honest the standard rooms look just as good and I would book one of those next time.
The staff are always on hand to help and are very friendly.
The breakfasts are great with an abundance of choice and a lovley breakfast terrace overlooking the lake. Desenzano is a very nice town not to crowded but a nice atmosphere nicely placed to visit the other towns round the lake by ferry or bus.
Desenzano has a mainline train station its a 20 minute walk uphill to the station from the hotel. Milan is only an hour away by train Venice just over two hours and Verona only 40 minutes.
We really enjoyed our stay here. if want a great hotel book the villa rosa you wont be disapointed.
We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here last October so sorry for the late review.
The hotel has a lovely feel from the outset. The staff were not overally friendly but were efficient. There are fresh flowers everywhere in reception which is a really nice touch when you've been travelling and /or out and about all day.
The rooms were very clean and tidy and I really can't fault it at all. The bar was quiet of an evening but that wasn't a problem just lacked atmosphere but there are plenty of bars around the town to choose.
Breakfast was a good selection - even though I had a bit of a nightmare with the egg boiler and toaster for some reason!! Totally my fault! Plenty of choice - breads, hams, cheeses and fruit and yoghurts - enough to set you up for the day - until your mid morning cappucino!!
Desenzano itself was lovely - a little quiet given it was October but that appealed even more to us! The market is great to go to (either Tuesday or Thursday can't remember sorry) for the aatmosphere and the local people. Beware of the coach parties which come in just for the market - it can get very busy.
Lovely cafes, bars and restaurants around - we were stuffed every day! Take a trip to Verona on the train - 40 mins and a few pounds is well worth it.

This hotel was just perfect.Staff were helpful and friendly but not over the top.The room was kept so clean and shiny it was a good size for two of us.The variety of food at breakfast was great and nothing was two much trouble for the helpful staff.
I can honestly say after many years of travelling to different parts of europe this hotel has got to be one of my favorites.I will definately return.
