We were excited to stay in Lucca and thought that this would be a good choice since it was a boutique hotel in the city walls. However, we were very disappointed in our stay. While the room was nice enough, the bathrooms were a bit odd with very strange showers. Given that, we would rate this hotel as average if not for service problems-- Our room was not what we expected it to be from the description on the internet. We saw that other rooms were available and confirmed that the hotel was not full. However, the reception was distinctly unhelpful since basically they said that we had reserved that room and were stuck with it. We actually didn't mind the room so much, but were surprised at the hotel's attitude and reaction to our request. One reason this may have occurred is that the people at the front desk constantly change throughout the day, we almost never saw the same face twice.

We were bitterly disappointed with this hotel. We booked in for two nights as part of our honeymoon. We arrived in the evening to find a small room with no bath as promised in our booking confirmation. Within minutes of arriving we made our complaint to the man at reception and looked to be changed to another room. We were told nothing else was available. We explained that the price of the room was far too high for the standard of room we were getting. He made a phone call to whom we believed was his supervisor and were told that he would be able to take approximatley 80 euro off the total price. On leaving two days later the woman at the desk refused to give us any discount telling us that in fact we were staying in a superior room so we were actually getting a discount by paying the originally agreed price! This was not mentioned on our arrival either. She blamed the booking company for misleading us even though we had a description in English of what we were getting she showed us a piece of paper in Italian from the booking company that she said was different. If we had been told this the first night we would have gone elsewhere, she offered no apology or any discount. We hope no one else gets burnt by this overpriced, greedy, deceptive hotel. As the most expensive place we stayed we hoped it would be the best and were badly let down.

This is a nice, well appointed small hotel in an excellent location within the city walls of Lucca. The staff is friendly and attentive to your every need. The rooms are located up a flight of stairs, which might be difficult for some travelers but worth the climb!

Nice to find a well furnished very clean hotel inside the city wall. The hotel is a large first floor apartment converted into about 7 rooms. Fine for a nights stay. Very Helpful friendly staff. Willing to shlepp bags upstairs. Basis breakfast . Parking included two blocks away. If you visit Lucca you must stay inside the walls to get the best out of it. A great place. Lots of classy boutiques and eating places to see wandering around.

We satyed here for 2 nights. Very central location and quite difficult to find. Only a few rooms all nicely furnished. Very small breakfast room and basic buffet. We had part of a roman wall in our bedroom. Our room looked out onto the main street but it was not noisy. car park free but several blocks away.
