Great hotel
Guest name: kyliew52, London, United Kingdom
This hotel was great - it was a haven to come back to after spending a day in the insanity of Naples! It was clean, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was fine. Although the area is not the greatest looking, we felt perfectly safe walking around even late at night. Transport links are great, the old quarter with its atmospheric alleys and lines of washing as well as hundreds of churches is a stone's throw away.
The pizzeria directly across the square is lovely, and great for watching the interesting Neapolitan driving habits!
Nice, clean and save

After reading some of the last reviews I was chocked, is that the same hotel I've stayed in?
What can a hotel do for it's surrounding's? Yes the hotel is placed in Naples, it's close to the railway and has the public transport with buses and trams just 30m from the door.
But they're not responsible for the trash in the streets and the vendors in the streets nearby trying to sell you everything the Far East is producing at the moment.
The staff is friendly and help you with mostly everything you want.
Maybe I do not expect to much in this price class from a Hotel placed in a city of it's size like Naples.
The breakfast is typically for southern Europe, but has even cereals, yogurt, fresh fruits and fresh bread with ham and cheese.
Not more, but much more than I expected.
Good tourist restaurants are not nearby, but why don't try what the locals eat? There are a couple of Italian family restaurants (simple style) at Via Casanova, Via Cesare Rosaroll and Piazza Enrico de Nicola.
If you look for a better place you can try a longer walk to Ristorante "Giardino di Napoli" at Via P. Colletta 25/27, with lovely Antipasti and Pastas. It's next door to the Pizzeria Condurro, another place from the locals.
The hotel has now free WiFi access, unfortunately not in all rooms, just check that with the front desk before and they will help you.
Overall I can not complain about the hotel, even if you get to get useed to the neighbourhood.
Hotel is friendly, clean and save that helps.

I stayed at the BW Hotel Plaza in early October 2007. The hotel itself is acceptable while the area, and all of Naples for that matter, is full of litter and trash. While the hotel is nice with a very convenient location near (walking distance with luggage) the main train station, there is no reason whatsoever to stay in Naples when the town of Sorrento is only 1 hour away. The only good thing about Naples is the Musuem where they take what's unearthed from Pompeii and put it on display. Naples itself is dirty, crowded, noisy, crime-ridden and really has no redeming positive attributes. That being said, if looking for a Naples hotel this one is just fine - the room I had, on the second floor, had double pane windows that really kept out the street noise. I've stayed at other hotels that had the same type of window but still let in the noise, here, for some reason, the installation was done correctly. It's close to the train station, relatively cheap (cheapest on my 3 week Italian vacation) and there was a safe in the room. Breakfast, served on the roof was acceptable but not overly generous in its' selection and quantity.
The bads; location was dirty, noisy and from the balcony all I saw was the laundry of the apartment building across the street. The room was an acceptable size but the shower stall was amazingly small and I barely fit in through the doors. Also, you were required to return the room key when leaving, not the most secure of arrangements which might explain the room safe and the front desks' strong recommentation that it be used. There is an Internet PC in the lobby for 5 Euros/hour.
All in all really not a bad hotel. It was clean, quiet and I would recommend it if staying in Naples but would strongly suggest staying in Sorrento instead.

The Best Western Hotel Plaza is the only clean spot in the entire city of Naples which is in itself an outdoor spetic tank.
The rooms are clean and the staff is helpful. Don't expect more because that's it!
Breakfast is the usual pastry, weak coffee, sour orangejuice and some glop the Europeans adore. A cross between yogurt and sour cream.
Beyond the stoop of the Best Western it's a sea of litter, piled up garbage, gloom, despair and graffiti.
The filthy train station is about 6 blocks of slums away with the poorest citizens north of the Congo.
You'll feel safe in the Best Western Hotel Plaza but you'll never forget Naples, and that's a fact.

Do not expect to get what you booked and paid for at this hotel. We booked a superior room with a king size and single bed room through Best Western with their internet special and paid in full without refund. The first room we were shown was very small with a double and a camp bed squeezed in, we asked for what we ordered they kept us in our room for an hour till I complained again, they then showed us 3 other rooms till we got a proper single bed but again the room had a double bed and was small. I asked to speak to the manager who was not in but I spoke to him on the phone he said he would show me other rooms. His staff carefully showed me rooms on the 2nd and 4th floor which were exactly the same no superior room or king size bed. I said I would complain to Best Western which I did. They said it was not their problem as all their hotels are independantly run, but it is on the Best Western website. As the website says the hotel has King and Queen size beds so who is lying. This hotel also does not have a restaurant as advertised. We also had to wait 24hrs for Tea and coffee which was never replaced. We also had to ask for more toilet rolls and finally only one call girl operating outside we had 3 but this is Italy. Do not trust this hotel or Best Western
