Over all disappointed. The Hotel is classed as a 4 star, I would give it a low 3. The location is not Tasso Square, it is a good 15 minute walk from the square.
The rooms are small and in need of re-furbishment. We went B&B and the breakfast was really poor, so much so we did not go to breakfast after the 1st morning.
The hotel did not ruin our stay in beautiful Sorrento, however, it was not what we expected.
On a good note, the waiters were great and very friendly.
I would not recommend this hotel as a 4 star. Nor would I stay in it again.

Having read through a number of reviews I cannot understand what people were complaining of. People were saying that the rooms facing the road were noisy, we were, and heard nothing. Some said that drinks were expensive, there were 6 of us and had at least 2-3 bottles of wine a night, always had drinks at the pool and had drinks in the hotel Bar at night, total cost of drinks 480 euros (£342 = £57 each} for the week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. We asked for a packed breakfast in the evening for the next morning, no problem, food, service, staff & cleanliness was excellent., in fact the Night Manager could not do enough for us, he even got info from the Internet for us and left it for us to collect in the morning,I would have no problem in reccommending any one there. Some people said the rooms were small, so what, you are only sleeping in them {or should be}. We used the Sunbeds three times no charge. As regards the public transport, fantastic, the Amelfi drive 5 euros each {in fact you can travel all day for that and we did}. Trains to Naples 3.60 euros each {return}and ran on time. People told us that Italy was expensive ,we found this not so. Do not be put off by the few people who have complained.

My Grandson (9yrs) and I stayed at the Flora 7days at half board. We took in the sights in Sorrento, Positano, Rome, Capri, Vesuvius..It was absolutely breathtaking. Bus trips with singing hostess Maria and the boat trips pices were reasonable. The hotel staff were great and dealt with all inquiries with tact and grace. The food was 'squisito' and they tried to cater to my Grandsons taste because he was willing to try all the fare offered. Matthew fell in love with the hotel staff. Franco the waiter was especially patient with him. I would definitely stay there again. Try the proscuito and melon at the poolside for a change, be willing to try the Italian Fare it is absolutely the best. The holiday was jam packed and the tour staff were quite adequate in their knowledge of the area. The Lemon groves fragrance wafting through the air, the blue sky and our wonderful Italian hosts and hostesses very attentive to our needs and concerns. It was the best holiday I have had in a long while.
We got to know the busy merchants and they would call my Grandsons name and wave to us as we came home from a day of sight seeing. Matthew and I tried to order in Italian and the townspeople really appreciated our effort and doted on my very chatty Grandson.

Simply put, terrible service, very very noisy, very small rooms ... not a four star hotel. I read the other reviews and ignored them and really wished I had taken them seriously.

Spent a week with Partner at the Flora - and checked the reviews when we got back! This is mine.
Good points:
The restaurant staff are absolutely tremendous - friendly and efficient at all times, and a credit to the hotel. Restaurant, clean and well-maintained, is on the fifth floor with fine views over the sea - and the food was of a good standard. Buffet breakfast and several menu choices for dinner (three courses).
The hotel is clean and well-organised, is well-placed for the local transport links and is ten minutes or so from the main shopping/port areas of Sorrento. (Mind the traffic!) Reception staff were pleasant and efficient and the atmosphere was relaxed.
Miscellaneous observations:
We did not use the pool or pool bar so reference needs to be made to other reviews for these, though the pool was of a good size and all seemed clean and well cared-for. Not a huge amount of 'in-house' entertainment provided by the hotel but plenty to do in the town in the evenings.
Rooms: reasonably sized (we were on the first floor) but if noise is an issue for you it would be worthwhile ensuring that your room faces the pool/sea, as the main road outside is busy most of the time. Soundproofing is not bad, but you probably will not use the balcony a great deal if you want to hold a conversation there during daylight or evening hours..
Furnishings are adequate, bathrooms likewise from our experience, but, as the floors are tiled, the scraping of chairs above etc may be an occasional annoyance. Sky TV is provided though some of this attracts a charge, as does the room safe and mini-bar.
Sorrento is a hive of activity and a good base from which to explore the area - trains for Pompeii, Naples etc and buses for the 'Amalfi Drive' and more local spots along the peninsula are cheap and easy to find, all centred around the railway station. (Roads and local drivers can be 'interesting' if you are considering car hire...we decided against this).
As with many other European areas queuing is alien to the locals so they simply go to the front and 'mingle' - this can be annoying if the bus is too full to take all those who have been waiting in line for a while - and we witnessed at least one instance of 'argy-bargy'. Be alert if the queue is a long one and you are near the back!
Ferries are plentiful for Capri, Ischia etc, and Amalfi/Positano trips are popular by water. We found Tour Operators coach excursions an expensive option and avoided these for the most part, taking just one half-day trip to Vesuvius. This is a must (especially if the weather is clear) provided that you can cope with a stiff-ish climb to the very top from the coach-park.
Do check out the Foreigners Club - a very good Tourist Information service and a pleasant terrace for a drink or light meal. If on Capri do take the chair-lift from Anacapri to the highest point, and if claustrophobic make sure that you are not the last person onto the bus - each one seems to go for a new record number of passengers!
All in all a very pleasant stay - I'm sure there are nicer looking hotels with better facilities, but if you want a well-placed, clean, efficient base with friendly staff you could probably do a lot worse than the Flora.
