The hotel is a 15-20 minute walk from the center of town, and was originally a little hard to find. Rooms are slightly above average for a 3-star. Restaurant was always empty, which is sad since the service was excellent and the food much better than expected. Breakfast is quite good with a large selection of tortes, pastries, fruits, meats, etc. A shuttle van runs every hour to and from the hotel. Hotel staff can be a little gruff, but were generally helpful. There is a roof top patio with nice views and patio furniture- nobody seems to use it but is a nice place to sip a beer. Overall, found the hotel to be clean/comfortable and good value.

We spent 5 nights, reception, restaurant and cleaning staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. They were the best we encountered in our seven weeks travels through Italy, France and Spain. The hotel was clean, peaceful and the courtesy bus was a bonus.Meals were very good.

I was satisfied from the hotel but it could be better I will give you the positive and the negative factors
Positive
1.Excelent price. For 39 euros per night including the breakfast you cannot find a cheapear accomodation
2.Very good breakfast. Good variety of cakes, ham and cheeze to eat. Unfortunatell no fruits were included
3. The room was clean and everyday they were changing our towels with new ones
Negative
1 The location is a bit far from the centre... It is 20 minutes fast walking including some big staires you have to go up and down every day
2. The hot water in shower last only for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes it becomes suddently cold
3. It was supposed to have a free suttle bus to the center but No shuttle bus was available the 4 days we stayed there

After quite a few laborious stays at various city center hotels throughout Italy, the Ilgo Hotel offered exactly what we were looking for. The hotel is relatively secluded overlooking a valley, yet close enough for the hotel bus service to whisk us to the city center which is quite close. In many ways, it was perfect because we had the best of both worlds (hotel seclusion and a city center nearby).
For a 3 star hotel, it has many amenities equal to if not more than what you would find in most 3 star (and even some 4 star) hotels in the USA.. The hotel has a spacious parking lot on the premises (rarely found in hotels in Europe). The staff was absolutely fantastic in making sure all of our needs were taken care of from the minute we got there. As for their restaurant, I found their food to be quite exceptional on many levels, from the varied selection of dishes to the many tempting desserts available each night. Consistently after dinner, we would make our way to the bar for a few hours of chit chat and a few after-dinner drinks.
We found the hotel very well maintained and extremely clean. The common area by the lobby and reception is quite inviting as it has several sofas and chairs with a good selection of literature. Additionally, the hotel has an outdoor area (facing the parking lot and valley) should you elect to spend some time outside. In the common area, you will also find 2 computers for internet access should the need arise. The cost of Internet connectivity is quite reasonable.
With respect to the rooms, we felt very comfortable. The rooms were accommodating as it offered all of the amenities one could ask for (television, desk, telephone and mini-bar). The bathroom was relatively small (certainly not to the size standards found in American hotels) however, for European standards and for our needs, the bathroom was adequate, inviting and more importantly, very clean!!!!!.
In a nutshell, the hotel is great, regardless of length of stay. The staff fantastic, the food very good to say the least and the hotel calm, quite, comfortable, low profile (in a good way) and VERY, VERY CLEAN!!! And yes, we enjoyed having the option of being transferred to the city center by the hotel’s bus service.
Negatives? We don't necessarily have any to share. Our experience was above average if not excellent. I would not hesitate one moment to choose Ilgo Hotel in the future.

I was in Italy for various business meetings and Perugia was my last stop before heading home to Canada. After spending various days in various cities and hotels in Italy, my stay at the Ilgo Hotel was a what I needed. The hotel is centally located in a quiet area. Their free shuttle service to the city centre was a godsend. Anyone that has driven in Italy and had to find parking spaces will understand. The staff was friendly, polite and accomodating. The food at their restaurant was very good.
Overall an excellent experience. Don't let the 3 Stars fool you. I believe this hotel deserves a 4 star rating.
