We arrived in Milan at 5pm one afternoon and left the next morning and this hotel was fine for that, I would only stay there for one or two nights.
It was clean but small (by Australian standards!) and just seemed dark and cold. We could hear the trains but it didn't really bother us.
It is in a good location and close the train station.
We had very helpful staff and the breakfast in the morning was was really good.

When we got to our room, I was quite surprised how nice this hotel was. I have stayed in Best Westerns before, but usually in the U.S., and none of them were as nice as this one. A big double bed, with a nice view of the city street below.
The bathroom was a big small, two people could not be in there at the same time. There was good closet space with a safe, which was a nice feature. The TV was somewhat small, which also had the options for an alarm clock.
The staff was very helpful for the most part. Especially Massimo (I hope I spelled it correctly). His English was very good and he helped us with all the details of the Metro lines and trying to find things around the city.
The complimentary breakfast was ok. A few types of fruit juice, scrambled eggs, several types of breads and yogurt. All of the bread was a bit tough, and the fruit they offered wasn't quite ripe yet. But, for a complimentary breakfast, it was pretty good.
They had said that there was free parking available, but honestly it wasn't true. What I think they meant was if you could find a free space somewhere on the street, then you could park there. But since it was a city street, and Milan is crazy with driving and people can park just about anywhere on the street, all of the street parking is taken up in the first couple of hours of the day. We then had to park in a garage down a different street for a fee. The fee wasn't bad, but the whole things seemed a bit misleading.

I'm a 21 year old female who was in Milan by myself for 5 days, and this hotel was great. I have very high standards as far as cleanliness and safety go, and I couldn't have asked for a better hotel. The room (a single on the 6th floor...room 602) was spacious and very very clean. The bed was comfier than my one at home, and the bathroom was also great. There was a fridge in the room, as well as radio and tv (with nearly 20 channels including cnn, mtv, French channels, German channels, and Spanish channels). Nothing at all dodgy or grimey about the room! There's a computer with free internet and printer downstairs, as well as a restaurant that has breakfast in the morning (continental). The hotel is located literally about a 1 minute walk to the Lima metro station as well as next to tons of shopping, restaurants, and gelato places! Also a perk is the location next to a pet store in the galleria where you can stare for hours at the puppies, kittens, and bunnies in the window! The area was really safe (safe area in general, but also located on a well-lit and busy road...entrance is right by the street and not down any dark alleyways or anything). Staff spoke English (as well as a bit of French from what I could pick up), and they were always friendly and at the front desk to greet you, even late at night. Was really worried about finding a hotel, as all the 3-4* hotels in Milan looked dingey and definitely not 3-4*in pictures online, but this was definitely not the case with the Best Western Hotel City. Paid $464 total for 4 nights, so not expensive either!

The hotel was well situated and clean. However, the staff were unhelpful and unfriendly. We handed in our travel voucher when we checked in, but the staff lost it - after that we were made to feel as if we shouldn't be there.
We were not bothered by the noise from trains - we could hear a very muted rumble, but were constantly disturbed by some other loud whirring noise which seemed to go on forever. We eventualy thought it may be the sound of a hairdrier from another room - we mentioned the noise at reception but just got a shrug in return.
The breakfast was adequate but only just. The worst thing was the machine produced coffee and juice. The juice was water, barely flavoured with some sweetened chemical.
Overall we would not return but would prefer to try somewhere else - having said that it was not expensive for a city centre hotel.
