Nous avons récemment séjourné dans cet hôtel pendant une semaine et nous avons été enchantés. C’était le point de chute idéal pour visiter Florence (les hôtels du centre ville sont en général très chers et le service n’est pas toujours à la hauteur) et explorer la Toscane. Nous allions en voiture jusqu’à Florence, parfois par l’autoroute, parfois à travers la campagne. Le trajet prenait environ 45 minutes et la Piazzole Michelangelo était un excellent endroit pour se garer (gratuit), situé en hauteur et dominant la ville, juste de l’autre côté du fleuve : elle offrait un point de vue fantastique. La petite ville locale offrait toute une gamme de services et des pâtisseries décentes, ainsi que des restaurants, mais il fallait une voiture pour s’y rendre. Près de l’entrée de l’autoroute, nous avons aussi découvert un super magasin d’usine qui vendait des articles en cuir. Je ne peux pas me rappeler son nom mais il était bien indiqué lorsqu’on arrivait près de l’autoroute. L’hôtel était extrêmement propre et confortable tout en étant très attrayant, dans un cadre ravissant, le long d’un lac. Il y avait de nombreux endroits où s’asseoir dehors pour profiter de différents panoramas et nous étions habituellement les seuls à nous y rendre. La douche était très puissante et la salle de bains était parfaite. Il y avait des pantoufles à disposition car il n’y avait pas de cuve dans la douche. Mais le sol séchait rapidement. Notre chambre donnait sur le lac. Comme nous étions au-dessus de la porte d’entrée, nous entendions les gens entrer et sortir, et puis aussi les gens qui travaillaient à l’entretien de la propriété comme ceux qui tondaient le gazon. Le personnel était très chaleureux et accueillant, en particulier au petit déjeuner : on ne m’a jamais servi avec autant de gentillesse et d’attention. Ils offraient une bouteille de jus de fruits, de l’eau, un excellent café, des pâtisseries variées (avec de la crème à l’intérieur très souvent) et du pain, avec bien entendu les incontournables jambon et fromage. En regardant les prix pratiqués par d’autres hôtels dans le même coin, nous avons trouvé que celui-ci était d’un très bon rapport qualité/prix. La Taverna locale vaut vraiment le déplacement. Je recommande sincèrement cet hôtel et j’espère bien y retourner moi-même un jour.

We recently stayed in this hotel for a week and were absolutely delighted. It provided the ideal base for visiting Florence (hotels within the city are generally very expensive and service variable) and exploring Tuscany. We drove in to Florence from here, sometimes by motorway and sometimes cross country. The journey time was around 45 minutes and Piazzole Michelangelo was an excellent (free) parking area to head for, set high and overlooking the city, just across the river, and giving a magnificent viewpoint. The local town offered a variety of services and decent cake shops and restaurants but you would need a car to drive there. Near the motorway entrance we also found an excellent leatherware factory outlet shop. I can't remember its name but there were signs for it all along the approach to the motorway. The hotel was extremely clean and comfortable as well as being very attractive and in a delightful location, alongside the lake. There was lots of seating outside, offering different viewpoints, and usually we had these to ourselves. The bathroom had a shower only but it was a powerful shower and met our needs. Free slippers were provided as there was no shower tray but the floor dried quickly. Our room overlooked the lake. As it was over the front door we sometimes heard the comings and goings, as well as maintenance work such as lawn mowing. The staff were very warm and welcoming - particularly at breakfast where I have never received such friendly and helpful service. It consisted of a whole carton of fruit juice, water, excellent coffee, various pastries (often with cream inside) and bread as well as the ubiquitous ham and cheese. We felt that it offered great value for money, looking at other hotels in the area and what they charged. The local taverna is definitely worth a visit. I would thoroughly recomend this hotel and hope to return there one day.

Abbiamo alloggiato recentemente in quest'albergo per una settimana e ne siamo rimasti assolutamente incantati. Offriva una base ideale per visitare Firenze (gli alberghi all'interno della città sono generalmente molto costosi e il servizio è variabile), e per esplorare la Toscana. Da qui, siamo andati a Firenze in macchina, a volte prendendo l'autostrada ed altre volte attraverso la campagna. Il tragitto era di circa 45 minuti, e Piazzale Michelangelo era un eccellente posto dove parcheggiare gratuitamente. È situato in alto, sovrastante la città, proprio al di là del fiume, ed offre un magnifico panorama. Il paese più vicino offriva una varietà di servizi e buone pasticcerie e ristoranti, ma per arrivarci avete bisogno della macchina. Vicino all'entrata dell'autostrada abbiamo anche trovato un'eccellente spaccio aziendale d'abbigliamento in pelle. Non me ne ricordo il nome, ma troverete delle segnalazioni poco prima d'arrivare all'autostrada. L'albergo era estremamente pulito e confortevole, ed anche molto attraente in una zona deliziosa lungo il lago. C'erano molti posti dove ci si poteva sedere fuori e da cui si godevano panorami diversi, e normalmente c'eravamo noi soli. Il bagno aveva soltanto una doccia, ma era una doccia potente, ed ci bastava. Nel bagno si trovavano delle ciabatte omaggio dato che la doccia non aveva un bacino, ma il pavimento s'asciugava in fretta. La nostra camera affacciava sul lago. Dato che era situata sulla porta d'ingresso, a volte sentivamo il via vai della gente, nonché i rumori di giardinaggio come quando tagliavano l'erba del prato. Il personale era caloroso ed accogliente – particolarmente per la prima colazione non abbiamo mai ricevuto un servizio ed un'assistenza più cordiale. La prima colazione consisteva di succo di frutta, acqua, caffè eccellente, dolci diversi (spesso ripieni di crema) e pane, nonché gli omnipresenti prosciutto cotto e formaggio. A nostro parere, l'albergo offriva un ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo se si considerano i prezzi di altri alberghi nelle stessa zona. Vale senz'altro la pena di visitare la taverna locale. Consiglio vivamente quest'albergo e spero di ritornarci in futuro.
