Our family of four (2 adults, 2 children aged 12 and 16) stayed at the Globus in August '07. The price was extremely reasonable for that time of year considering the huge breakfast they served. The staff were helpful, we had a great room with bunk beds, they provided free water, juice and pop in the minibar, and the place was very clean. It was nice to have free internet, though only one computer and a few rude people made it frustrating at times. If the hotel is full, go early for breakfast to avoid lining up. Yes the elevator is small, but hey, there are stairs right beside it! It is not the "long distance" some people say from the metro - around 10 minutes even after walking around Rome in the summer heat for 12 hours. Once you're on the metro, all the major sites are easily accessible. I can't really comment on restaurants nearby because we always ate lunch and supper wherever else we were. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

We (2 families with young kids) had been there in August 2007 for vacations. 1)At first i have to say that i had called the receptionist from Greece a month before we got there, to ask if they had a garage for our cars and he said yes of course you can use the garage at the basement. And........surprise surprise there was no garage when we got there!!!!!! We argued with the 2 recepcionists but they insisted that if we wanted our cars into a closed parking we shoukd take them in a garage near the hotel which remained closed from 8:00 pm to 8:00a.m in the morning so we wouldn't have the chance to move them even if it was necessary. 2) i also asked them the 2 rooms to be next to each other and they said o.k but this didin't happened either.3) One night my kids were hangry and i asked for the room service. They talled me to call r.s but the woman who answered said :"no english speaking". I called back the reception and they were annoyed at first but 2 minutes later the madame from the room service spoked english magically!!!!!!!!4) the hotel had only one elevator, imagine us staying at the 6th floor and trying for 30 minutes to go up!!!.5) We payed for an suite and a balkony but the balkony was closed and people were working out there even while we were in.....6) The stuff .ohhh!! mama what can i say, they weren't helpful at all.
