The hotel is conveniently located two blocks from the Termini railroad station (few minutes walk). This allows a quick access to the Rome subway, bus and train systems.
Although the surroundings were very chaotic at any time of the day and the night the hotel room was very quite (providing that the window stay closed). The room was spacious for four people, clean with all the necessary amenities. The air conditioning was available at a cost of 10 Euros per day (well worth it). The staff was very professional, proficient in English, helpful and knowledgeable. The breakfast took place in a small room however we never felt crammed due to a well managed reservation system. The lady serving breakfast (unfortunately do not recall her name) was very accommodating.
There were several restaurants in a short range and would recommend the "IL CONDOR" restaurant in Via D. Manin that provided good service and quality food at a reasonable cost (considering that you are in Rome).

We have stayed in this hotel for three nights. I am positive surprised about all. The stairway, neighbourhood, rooms, staf etc. etc. Everything is just ok.
People working there are very helpful and polite. There is absolutly no problem in getting info about anything. Just after check in we got free tourguide and map, with quick briefieng, what we should see.
Neighbourhood is safe and OK, thus it could be a little uncomfortable to walk after till.
Walking distances : to TERMINI 2 min., Colloseum and Fora Romana about 20 min., Spagna and Fontanna di Trevi 20-30 min.
Excellent connections to everywhere by metro: Vatican 7 min. (I checked it). All others sites about 5 min.
Breakfeast is simple but OK.
Good advice: take room form backside - we didn't have any problems with sleep. But with windows by the street it could be hard to sleep: Roma people are using their hooters all the time, even in night.
Stairs are veeery long, especially with briefcases...(hotel is on 3rd floor).
Overall - I recommend everyone this hotel. It's worth of spend money.

We stayed in the Rome for the first time at the Orlanda hotel. Nice size room and clean but I didn't like the area especially since it was our first time in Rome. Only two people could fit in the elevator
and we were on the third floor. Breakfast wasn't much. Convenient to the Termini.

We stayed here in June/July 2003. Oriignally posted to TA on Oct 2003.
The room was great. Large by European standards. We had a private bath (tiny shower) and bring your own wash cloths. The breakfast isn't much but there's a fabulous little coffee shop (bar) downstairs. The staff was friendly & very helpful. They directed us to several great restaurants & set us up for an overnight stay in Sorrento at another great place. We were there for almost 2 weeks and loved the central location 2 blocks from the Termini (train) Station. Neither of us spoke Italian but everyone was kind & helpful. We were there the end of May & the weather was perfect. We want to go back & Hotel Orlanda is where we will stay.
