My partner and I have stayed at La Solara twice and are getting ready to go again this summer! The hotel is set in the most beautiful location 3km out of Sorrento. I must admit the first time we went I was dubious about the location but the hotel bus runs every hour like clockwork and it takes you right into Sorrento so you never miss a thing. I think that the hotels best feature is its staff. They are so accomodating and friendly - nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and you have your own table every night which is a big plus for us! It has such a varied menu it makes it difficult to know what to order but when you are served such excellent food night after night you are never disappointed with your choice. The rooms we have stayed in are spacious, beautifully furnished and remarkably clean. We have been so inpressed by La Solara's service that we have recommended it to our friends and family who have all come back with the same opinion - excellent! We have also decided to stay at La Solara next year when we get married and we cannot wait. Although the actual rating of this hotel is 4 stars we would give it 5 stars without a doubt.

We have just returned from Italy where we stayed in 5 different hotels, 4 and 5 star, but we had just one week in La Solara and it was this week that really made our holiday fantastic. Top marks go to the staff, all of them. They were all so friendly and helpful. We have stayed in many hotels but have never experienced anything quite like this. Thanks so much to all of you for making us feel so welcome all of the time. The hotel is a 4*, but if you are thinking of going there you should picture a 5*+. We stayed on a B & B basis. Usually when we do this we might eat in the hotel once or twice but the food, ambience and service was so good in La Solara we ate there every night. The quality and variety could not be faulted. It was such a pleasure to be able to chill out during the afternoon, swim in the 25metre pool, soak up the sun in the new (free) designer sun loungers (towels supplied). And then to go for evening meal without the hassle of searching for a decent restaurant, knowing you would not be disappointed really helped us totally relax. If you want to eat out you can take the complimentary shuttle bus to Sorrento which goes regularly on the hour. We had hired a car, and coming from Ireland it is that bit more difficult driving on the right hand side and we know the reputation the Italians have for driving so we were a bit scared of driving down the Amalfi coast. As it turned it was no real problem and definiately the most wonderful coastline in Europe. It is very easy to get to this drive from the hotel. What more can I say. We have just come back from staying at the Hotel La Solara I can not thank the staff enough for all the help they gave us nothing was to much trouble for them . The room was so clean that you could it your dinner off the floor. The hotel in our minds should be 5* as the standard was so high. The food was out of this world different menu every night the dinning staff where wonderful nothing was to much trouble for them. I would go back tomorrow. Our thanks to all the staff at La Solara

Nothing we could write could sum up just how fantastic this hotel was! Although I was a little concerned when we booked it that the hotel was a bit far from the town, it was not far at all in reality and ony took 10 mins or so in the courtesy bus that runs every hour. This service was excellent and certainly saved on taxi fares! The view along the coast to Sorrento town is so beautiful the short journey flew by anyway. The food at this hotel is outstanding. Every day there was something different and a huge choice, the resturant staff were fab and really friendly, nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Our room was immaculate, as a bit of a clean freak I'm usually really picky but I couldn't fault it. Every evening the bed was turned down and little sweets left next to the bed - how lovely! It was all the small touches like this that makes the hotel exceed its 4 stars, the staff treated us like royalty and made our holiday extra special as they knew we were celebrating a special occasion, for which I cannot thank them enough. The pool area was great, although busy they never ran out of sunbeds and Antonio the pool manager was always on hand if you needed anything, umbrella, drink etc, so that nothing comes in the way of your relaxation! The covered area was great if the sun got too much and the bar food was lovely. The hotel had free internet access was great, very handy for emailing home and rubbing it in. The hotel is ideally suited for exploring the beautiful region, all the historic sites and the wonderful town of Sorrento. Ideal if you don't fancy staying in the centre of town which can be quite lively at night. We would go back in a heartbeat! Thank you la Solara!

The hotel is the standard I would expect from a 4 star hotel, very clean, good facilities and great food. However the thing that sets this hotel apart from all other hotels I have stayed at over the years (and there have been many) is the customer service provided by the staff. The reception, bar, pool, resturant and maid service staff were all excellent. Always happy to help , with a smile, and nothing is too much trouble. The only slight downside to this hotel is its location, approx 3ks outside of Sorrento. Although it the hotel information states that you can walk to Sorrento, this is not really possible, there are no pavements on the roads and it would be really dangerous to try and walk into town. That said, the hotel bus leaves every hour and is running from 8am to 11pm. If you want to stay out later, then a taxi will be required, which can be quite expensive.
