We have just come back from Sardinia and a fantstic stay at Villa Margherita. It is a charming, quiet, family run hotel with 26 rooms. What a little gem we have found, Golfo Aranci is a small fishing town, old fashioned and perfect for those who don't like the 'classic package holiday'. The hotel is superb I cannot recommend it highly enough. We were on our 10th wedding anniversdary trip and got one of the garden rooms with a hot tub.....what a treat. The beach is a stroll away, with sea views from our room and a great restaurant on the beach front (be sure to reserve the window seats). We love Italy and we certainly loved this little spot in Sardinia...we shall be back as soon as possible!

Have just returned from a long weekend in Sardinia and I loved it!
The locals were extremely friendly and staff at the hotel could not do enough for you.
the hotel was quiet with a lovely pool and whirlpool, although cold this time of year and located near many restaurants , shops and a couple of bars within walking distance. We had a beautiful sea view and the room was very comfortable with big fluffy bath robes as well!!!
The breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from and we ate outside by the pool.
The hotel is very relaxing and comfortable , would definitely recommend it.

Another holiday at the hotel Villa Margherita in Golfo Aranci this time complete with mother-in-law, (if you’ve read my other review you’ll know who I mean, elderly lady abandoned at Gatwick by uncaring son) and it was even better than last year.
We were given a room with a private jacuzzi on the ground floor overlooking the garden and the bay, it was truly wonderful. The room was large with a very comfortable kingsize bed and a beautiful bathroom complete with bidet. The towels were changed twice a day. The room's crowning glory was the massive balcony with hot jacuzzi, where we could lie on our loungers soaking up the sunshine, after applying factor 20 obviously, or lazing in the warm bubbly water. Heavenly would probably just about cover it, although I think heaven would have to go some to beat it.
We spent one day on the hotel yacht, and for only 50€ each we went out at about 9.30 in the morning until early evening were fed and watered (well wined and dined actually) and taken to two beautiful bays where we could swim in the absolutely clear waters which surround Sardinia or go onto the islands. Some of the party went snorkeling, others just sunbathed, we swam and it was fantastic. The day ended with our being taken to watch wild dolphins. We’re going again next year and this is most definitely one experience we will want to repeat.
The breakfast is superb, cheeses, hams, fruits, breads, EGGS AND BACON, in fact anything you could possibly fancy and served with tea or coffee, or both, sitting around the beautiful swimming pool beside those delightful gardens. On our last night we enjoyed a gala dinner in the hotel restaurant of about seven delicious courses, each one better than the one before This is a perfect hotel, we’ve stayed in quite a few four star hotels and this tops the lot.
Golfo Aranci is a very quiet little town but has all we need for a holiday, there is a fab restaurant, which I mentioned in my last review, near the train station. Get there early it fills up quite quickly, and coming out of the hotel and turning right walk only a few yards to find a fantastic ice-cream shop. I can’t remember how much it costs but it was cheap and very delicious. Leave the hotel via the gardens, turn right and only a few yards along the road is a lovely beach with sparkling clear water where you can walk and trail your feet in that clear sea and look out for the tiny fish or enjoy a drink and snack at one of the beach bars.
I’m just about to book again for our third visit and I don’t think that will be our last.
I have a few more pictures which I'll post separately as TA only allows 10

I fully disagree with the previous negative mail from Towyn. There's always people complaining.
We were here mid August. All rooms are beatiful renovated. Building works are finished. Found the hotel really easily on the main street. Very professional and friendly people. Book a superior room with seaview. Very good breakfast for Italian norms. Excellent service.
This is really high standard, really 4 star even 4.5 star.
We go back, what a top place.
Congrats to the Soldati Family.

We had booked five days at this four star hotel, impressed by
the photos and list of amenities we saw on an Italian website.
On arriving at the town,we couldn't find the place and had to phone them, after 20 minutes of fruitless searching. We were told
it was opposite the bank and discovered an entrance, set back from the road, with no hotel sign and a large building site attached to it.
We were shown our room by the surly receptionist, dragging our bags up the stairs ,as the lifts weren't working,to find our room did not have the balcony as advertised on the website. They had no other room to offer us,probably because a large number
seemed to be in the process of renovation.
Hot and tired,we switched on the air conditioning on,to find it
wasn't working. The hotel owner (?)...she didn't introduce herself...
gave us to understand that it was being mended.
The next day,after a hot and mosquito-ridden night,we became
aware that the place was full of workman, drilling, hammering,
in the corridors,in the dining area and outside.
In our room was a list of drinks and snacks available,so at
lunch-time,we asked for a snack, only to be told they didn't
do any.It was irritating to see the owner plus staff, tucking in to
their lunch in the dining area, when they couldn't even provide us with a sandwich.
to be fair, the maitre d'hotel was the only one who showed any
concern over the poor deal we were getting .I gather that the previous week's guests were offered a boat trip as compensation.
We turned down the offer, and left after two nights, paying the full
price for what had been a ghastly experience.
Avoid this place...it looked as if the building work would take a long time to finish...also the owner/manager is indifferent to
her guests comfort.
P.S. Our first hotel,the Angedras,at Alghero,was great!
