La Casa de la Marquesa is a wonderful, historical, beautiful place. The rooms were quite large and comfortable. This hotel is located in the heart of the city. The plaza, museums, cafes, shops, and restaurants are all just a few blocks away. We had a wonderful romantic weekend.

if you are looking for a beautiflu romantic getaway in the downtown historic district, this is it!
We stayed in the expansion part across the street by choice because of the exceptional quality of the rooms.
It is difficult to find anything negative to say about this hotel.
It has everything you could want: beautiful rooms, modern facilities, location, service, etc. etc.
We negotiated a very good price, 1200 pesos (a little over $100 USD) for the best suite in the hotel.
We would go back again and again!

This hotel has what we always look for in a vacation hotel – excellent location in the heart of the city, good staff, nice rooms, reasonable price and character. In this case, the last comes from the hotel’s history and architecture. We stayed in the annex, the Casa Azul, which is not quite the same as staying in the main house, but was fine. The rooms were large and the courtyard downstairs, where we has breakfast, was a treat.

The hotel is located in the heart of the historic center. All the museums, plazas, and restaurants are a few blocks away. The building itself is a work of art and the rooms are decorated individually with beautiful antiques. Our room (La Pinta) had tall, vaulted ceilings and hand-painted stencils. The huge bath tub was a luxury as were the thick towels, superb toiletries, and excellent linens. The pillows were as comfortable as my own at home (my pet peeve). There was complimentary bottled water in the room and each night, we received cookies on our bed with the turn down service. Because we were there before the Christmas and New Year traffic, we paid only around $127/night for all this luxury. We were also given a choice of rooms because the hotel wasn't full. The first room we were shown was beautiful but located in the annex across the street. I would not recommend booking in the annex because the rooms all face a central courtyard with a restaurant in the middle. I imagine it can get noisy and smelly. The main building, however, is very quiet. If you get a chance, have them show you around to a few rooms until you find one that suits you. Some rooms have patios, some balconies, others huge tubs, and some only showers. There is no parking on site but valet parking is only $6/day.
