Love this 4 star hotel, for me it is great value for money at ?55!!! The rooms & hotel were beautiful, i had no problem with the staff as i speak chinese. The location of the hotel is also great as it is within walking distance to all of the city attractions. Breakfast at the hotel is also very good but pricey at around 1/5 of our room price! We spent 2 nights at the hotel and really loved it.

Our travel guide company booked this hotel for us, and overall it worked well for us.
The facilities are clean, quite spacious and the service level is quite attentive and the staff try hard to get everything right.
We liked the bar and ate good pizza and drank there ( fancied a break from Chinese food) . The only shame was that it was the end of the English premiership and the hotel didn't have cable TV so we couldn't watch it! I know this sounds silly, but lots of the guests in the bar left when this became known, they went to watch the game elsewhere!
The bar staff were nice and the hotel has a good feel to it.
The only strange thing was that there were three of us in our party. Check in staff put the person on their own in a massive room, overlooking the street and sights of Xi'an and put the two of us in a tiny room overlooking a brick wall with no proper curtains just a Japanese screen. We think they got mixed up, but hey we weren't in the rooms too much.
We were in Xi'an to see the Terracotta army and take tours of the Huaqing Hot Springs and Big Wild Goose Pagoda. While we were at BWGP the earthquake happened and it was nice to get back to the hotel and found it reassuringly calm after the difficult day everyone had.
This is a good hotel, nice breakfast, good facilities and the staff are knowledgeable and kind. We would stay there again.

I spent 3 nights at the hotel and found the rooms comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. I read some mixed and some negative comments about the hotel so I was surprised when I got there that it was a good hotel. The so called "hard beds" that many people commented on were not as bad as expected and in fact I had some good nights sleep despite the jet lag. I had one of the Regency Club rooms and the staff in the Regency Club were exceptionally helpful and friendly.

I work and live in China and stay in a different hotel during the course of my work, almost every week. I can categorically say that the Hyatt has been the worst experience I have had to endure in my two years in China. Let me summarise.
· Most importantly, the staff were rude and unhelpful. Kevin and Lawrence, two members of the front office actually ignored my wife and colleague and I when we tried to complain. Kevin didn’t respond at all and Lawrence replied with “all hotels are different”. There was no apology or even an acceptance of our grievances
· I paid for the club floor and the room didn’t have a window, only a Japanese style shutter while my colleague had a window and a much bigger room for the same price
· The breakfast available on the club floor was disgraceful. A pitiful choice of food and a non existent service. We had to go to the ground floor get a decent choice for breakfast and even there, the tea I ordered never arrived, nor did the butter I asked for.
· The overall service on the club floor was appalling. There were two members of staff who were thoroughly disinterested with cluttered, un-cleared tables and absolutely no service, no ice available for drinks and again a pitiful food selection. When we were asked for our room numbers it was done in an accusatorial fashion and not in a professional way.
· Money was actually taken out of my credit card for a deposit without a request for clarification. I have NEVER had to do this elsewhere.
I would avoid here at all costs.

The Worst I stayed in in China

Stayed here for three nights.
On arrival we booked a so called "Western Buffet" in the resturant. Unfortunalty one of us being being ellergic to shelfish and the other vegetarian there was nothing at all to eat. There was absolutly nothing we could eat between the two of us! every single dish other than very tasteless noodles that did not contain fish. This was followed by sour chocolate covered strawberries and the worst ice cream I have ever had.
On arrival in the room we found the bathroom covered in marks and the bathtub itself very chipped! After several attempts we gave up complaining as they did not understand us!
On the second day we asked for more towels but after an hour and a half and three phone calls they gave us hand towels instead of the bath towels we asked for!
As there was no where around we could oder veggie food we decided one night to order room service. It took about half an hour was very costly (even in comparrison to the other 3 hotels we stayed in while in China) and the portions were tiny and not particularly cold. My burger and chips came with about three chips and my friend's salmon was about ?15 and about an inch long!
So overall we were not impressed with it and wouldn't stay again!
