My fiance and I just stayed at the Hyatt in Greenville while we were in town for a wedding. The location is great for being downtown. There were tons of restaurants and shops just outside the door and once we parked our car at check-in, we never took the car out again. Everything is in walking distance, including the Falls and the ball park (which is great too!).
The bathroom in the room is really tiny, but for just the two of us, we managed fine. The bed was incredibly comfortable!! When we got to our room the first time, we realized that it was right on the pool. That sounds great in theory, but in reality, we were never able to open the curtains and let the sun come in because there were people right outside laying at the pool. We were able to hear people out there at times, but never early in the morning or late at night. The front desk staff were very friendly and even called to let us know that we had a gift bag at the front desk from the couple getting married. The bar prices are extremely high!!! I paid $3.00 for a bottle of water and my fiance's friend paid $9 for a mixed drink. Avoid it and venture out onto Main Street for a variety of bars and great shops.
Overall, no major complaints! I would recommend the Hyatt and we would stay there again.

Thank goodness we only had to stay one night at this place. As other reviewers have said, this hotel is in need of a major renovation. The Hyatt has a great reputation but this location doesn't live up to their usual standards. The housekeepers need to be trained on proper cleaning. The bathroom had hair and a dead spider on the floor. The tub had not been cleaned as it was black. The carpet had not been vacuumed. There was a layer of dust on the TV stand, bedside table, and desk. I didn't even want to touch the remote control as it was covered in a grimey layer of dust. Yes, the hotel is in a great location. But that's the only thing it has going for it.

This hotel has an excellent location... Everything you could possibly want or need is within walking distance. I was disappointed with the housekeeping staff: the rooms were dusty and the floors were not vacuumed for the 2 nights we were there. Also, I found a pair of socks next to the bed that didn't belong to neither me nor my husband.

Good location for walking distance to the Peace Center for a concert. Close to great restaurants and a nice club for live jazz music. Room was comfortable but had a very, very small bathroom and the little coffee maker in the room was not worth the effort (no pot--just a paper cup to place under spewing coffee/water.) I liked the I Pod dock station and did not use the wireless internet connection.
City parking next door was $6 a day and hotel valet was $10 daily (I think). I do not like having to pay for parking and the spots at the garage are very small. If I go again I will look for free parking spots off site if available.

My husband stayed at this hotel for one week in mid February and then my 14 month old son and I joined him for a second week. After looking at the Hyatt's website, we expected much more than we got. The hotel is expensive to stay at and has hidden costs up the wazoo. We were charged $1 for every local phone call made on the room phone, and when we questioned our bill the front desk told us this cost notification was posted in our room in a book on the desk. When we asked to be shown where exactly the policy was written, the clerk could not produce it for us. Had we realized this we would have used a cell phone instead. They also charged $6 a day for parking on two different days that our vehicle was never in the garage even for one minute. We were not impressed at all with the amenities...or lack thereof. No microwave, no fridge, no coffee maker. This made it extremely difficult to warm baby food and milk for our son. We ended up purchasing an ice chest for his milk/food to keep it from spoiling. Showers were always just luke warm. The restaurant was very overpriced for the amount of food you get, however the food was good food. Overall the hotel is quite old and shows its age in things like peeling wallpaper and caulk in the bathroom. On the bright side...the hotel staff was always polite and attentive when we asked for help (aside from the lack of amenities and not being able to produce their phone policy for us) - with roomservice and luggage assistance, etc. Beds were comfy and clean. Hotel security was present. The Hyatt is located in downtown Greenville in a very cute and trendy shopping district. On a nice day it is a perfect place to stroll. It is easy to get to if you are unfamiliar with the area also. If we return to Greenville in the future we will not be returning to this hotel.
